I use this with our 30a rv cord plugged into a 20a outlet in our garage. Will also work on a 15a circuit.

15 amp

Just a thought here. Is it a matter if it will "work" or what kind of adapter you have or how much power your rig demands? You have a 30 amp rig and you adapt it down to a 15 amp plug... so what if you have a 50 amp rig and you adapt it down to a 15 amp plug.... will it work? Yes, for a limited degree, some of your items on your rig will turn on and work, but not all of them.

Talking Hooking up RV at home to 15 amps

Wow...I liked the fireworks BOB but it reminded me of the night the guys from the north lit up the ammo dump on the other side of the world in the early 70's. It sure looked real bright and the sound was louder than loud!
Oh and PS...snow covered the lawn yesterday and today...it's gotta stop or by all hell I'm gonna pull up stakes and hit the wind!

The hot leads are separated - the neutral and ground joined - so never an exposed hot lead.
there really is no 220v circuitry at either end, 2 separate opposite phase 110s.

Here in northern Vermont we have 3-4 more days of light snow then is is forecast to start to warm up. It's about time. Most of the ski areas have closed up, not due to a lack of snow but a lack of skiers. Looking forward to getting in the MH and getting ready for summer.

connecting RV to 15 A home

tender ,
I hear ya! When I was in the USAF at Loring AFB Maine I was so cold I wanted to jump into the fires of hell to thaw out a bit and like wise at Plattsburgh AFB. Those two places were colder than an old woman heart!
I just want to have it warm up so I can get the Axis all set for the road.
We will then get the outside 30 A service all connected and we will keep it plugged in while at the Fish Tank called home!

My comment to everyone on this site as to the topic is be real careful on what you hook up to and be smart about it as like most folks you have some big bucks at the end of the card...careful and easy does it! Have questions ask an expert for help in planning and such!

Plattsburgh...
I've heard it said by some residents, that if they owned both Plattsburgh and Hell: they'd live in Hell, and rent Plattsburgh out!

Hell? as in "Hell, Michigan"? Yes there is such a place: (and indeed it does freeze over quite frequently)

Looks like a hell of a nice place. Too bad its so flat, could be a good place to ski if it had a few mountains.

You can tell it's a boring day.

I've used my normal 30 amp cable and the adapter to connect to a receptacle in the garage a few times.

I have the 15K optional A/C on my Vegas, and a few times while hooked up to the garage the A/C in the RV has come on. When that happens the connection at the adapter does get quite warm. I would not do this very often unless I absolutely had to.

Comment back to K9Piper above: I was stationed at Loring AFB ME in the early 70s. From about 1969 to 1970 they converted the base heating systems from coal fired to oil fired steam production. In 1973 during the oil crisis they ran out of heating oil and we had no heat in the housing area. My wife and I and our two kids slept in the same bed at night to keep warm. In the morning there would be ice on the inside of our living room windows. Oh yea, good times!!!
