It should be adjacent to your fresh water pump, or at least between your pump and fresh water tank.
Here is where mine is located:
It just sticks up in the air like a Prairie Dog.

My Hurricane 34 J is the same - sounds like someone trapped inside the walls with a baseball bat. Where specifically did you secure them!?

New shurflow pump, thick piece of carpet upside down between pump and mounting surface and 36" of flexible tubing from ace hardware and the necessary brass connectors to hook to both the input and output sides of the pump to the existing plumbing in a loop. Like magic the the noise will be gone. Be sure and make the loop and there are two new connector ends that come with the pump. Bought mine at camping world and they mached the price of a competitor of $65.00 versus their $110.00 good Sam discount price. This project is not difficult and takes about 30 min all in if you have the parts together.

Here is where I placed it on my Hurricane. What a difference. Can not even hear it now and before, when it was bolted to the floor, it was like someone beating down the walls every time.
Used two pieces of hose purchased at Menards and the original screws to attaché to rear wall of under bed cabinet - what a difference it made!

Hammering water pump
I know your thread is older. Here is what I found works for the hammering in the walls. Turn off the pump and open all of the faucets and shower valves (hot & cold) to allow the water to balance out in the system. After about a minute I will turn the pump on then close the faucets. I still get the pump vibration, but the hammering in the wall stops. My next step will be to upgrade the pump.

I did several things to silence my pump. I installed an accumulator tank, used vinyl hose (absorbs vibrations) and mounted my pump on top of a piece of thick scrap carpet. The pictures show how my pump looks after tank and hose installs but before adding the carpet underneath, which made a huge difference!

Just bought an accumulator tank for our Axis. Next little project. Good pics. Thanks.

You will also need the pump silencing kit which are two hoses to absorb vibration. I made my own just because I had the parts, you can see them looped up in the pictures. You are probably going to have to move the pump to make room for the accumulator, having the silencing hoses makes that easier. While you're at it put a piece of carpet under the pump and tank.

Filter
I am pretty sure that this is where a filter should go. What do you all say?

that's the suction side strainer housing. Should be a mesh or screen basket inside. Not what most would cal a filter exactly...only catches rather larger particles.
