Continental tires?

Wondering if anyone has any information on the Continental 245/70R/19.5 Conti Hybrid HS3 tires? Checking these out through the FMCA tire program. Looking to replace the Goodyear G670's that are going on 6 years old on my 2017 ACE 27.2. The easy way out is just to replace with what is on there. However, I want to make sure I am covering all aspects when it comes to cost and safety. Trying to find "the right" tire is a daunting task for those of us that aren't tire savvy. Seems like most comments I get is "it's a personal decision". I just need more advice so that I can make my own "personal decision".

Does the FMCA discount bring it down to the price of the Toyo tire?

That looks like a pretty good price.

I have the continental Vanco four season tires on my 2018 Thor Siesta Sprinter. I have not had any issues with them. I have about 25,000 miles on them.

Do you have the Toyo tires? I just had them installed as per a tire guy I know. Haven't ridden on them but a coupled hundred miles but them felt good on the road. Thx Dennis.

No, I still have the OEM GY tires but have heard the Toyos were a good replacement at a reasonable price.

Continental HSR's came on my F550 cab from Ford. Excellent, even wearing tires that DO NOT lose pressure. No doubt, when I'm ready for new rubber I'll buy the same tires. Don't buy tires based on price.

Thanks to all for the input. I realize you don't buy based on price and realize the most expensive tires aren't always the best. Looking at all options. One dealer recommended Hercules tires at a much lower price tag. Don't know much about those and reviews are sketchy so staying away from those.

Exactly, you don't have to buy the best (perceived sometimes because of price) to have the best. The gentlemen I purchased from has been in tire business 40 years and put these same Toyo's on his Dad's RV in 2020. I trust him so I bought them.
These were by no means the cheapest either. But they weren't the price of the big "name brands" either. Time will tell but I have no regrets!!!! Thx and good luck w whatever you buy, Dennis.

Tire Ratings

I just went through the task of figuring out which, if any tires are okay for my rig, a Windsport 32R class a with 245/70R 19.5s.
The tire dealer I went to first tried to get me to buy Goodyear G647s and I found that the speed rating on these is only a B or 31 mph. That is only okay for a delivery truck, not highway speeds for most of the day.
The Continentals are all M speed ratings which is 81 mph. If you drive that fast, you're crazy.
I ended up with Kelly Armorsteel RSA ultra at $252 each. With mounting and balancing and tax, title and license they came to $350 each.
During my research, I found speed ratings of B at 31 mph, G is 56, K is 68, L is 75 and M is 81. G rating is 14 ply and H is 16.
Just so you know.

I was in the tire business many years ago with AMOCO. Dealers will only push the specific brands they have available to them...period. Ever had a dealer recommend a competitive dealer because he had a better tire brand?

Had the Conti's to start out, just got Michelins, very happy with the purchase, much smoother ride. You get what you pay for.

FWIW--I have had Contis in 225x19.5 size on last 3 450s--each of them got over 80k miles before needing replacement. In over 240k miles on OEM Contis, only one nail puncture. Mine were the HSRs, the older tread style to the HD3s. I think you will be happy with them if you opt that brand.
