Generator Fuel

2022 quantum kw29.

Onan generator starts and runs fine until the fuel in the rv reaches about 2/3 full. I understand it is designed to cut off at 1/4 tank for safety reasons.
Level rv. Linear fuel tank gauge.
Feels like a supply line issue inside the gas tank. Not sure how to alter/fix this?

I think you've nailed the problem. Unfortunately I can't tell you how to solve the pickup problem. Since this is not a Thor specific issue maybe try posting this on the IRV2 Forum for a broader source of knowledge in this area.

You have a difficult problem: the generator fuel pickup was located too high on the tank at 2/3 rather than the more common 1/4 full. It will probably be very difficult, ie expensive to fix, probably requiring purging of the tank, removal and installing a lower pickup.

Here's an older thread at IRV2 with the same issue and how it was solved. Probably hasn't changed in 15 years.

There is the possibility the fuel pump is getting weak or a crack in the rubber fuel line that allows more air in when the pump works harder (lower fuel).
You could test this by running another fuel hose from the pump to a gas can under the fuel tank and make it 'work harder' with this configuration.

If the level at which it cuts out is affected by temperature, it could be a fuel vaporization issue. If the weather doesn't seem to affect it then it most likely one of the other suggestions.

I' had various issues with my generator. I found a Cummins dealer/repair shop nearby and got the issues resolved while it was under warranty. My suggestion is to do the same
