Error Message
After I finished checking the water in the Coach batteries: I nailed things back together, and decided to charge the batteries a little bit with the generator. Once I saw 13.4 volts on the Xantrex monitor: I shut down the gennie..
And all Hell broke loose! The Xantrex was beeping, and flashing codes. I saw "e05", and "ol"
What did I bust??

E05 = low voltage. Check connections for tightness..

Also consider purchasing a Flow-rite Quik-fill kit for water levels. Much easier to maintain proper levels. Flow-Rite MP2000 Qwik-Fill 2 Battery...=yo_pop_ma_swf

Thanks; that sounds like an easy fix!
Although I thought that I had them all pretty solid...

After sleeping on this situation...
Could it just be that because I added (distilled) water to the batteries: I should have put them on a charger, before re-installing them?

How low were they? Were they at least full enough to cover the cells?

No; they were only down about 10-15 cc's.
Less than a half-ounce.

Then I got nothing. Sorry. Remove the step cover, check the wires (leave step cover off) and try it? I'm thinking stray voltage maybe? That's all I have...for now.

Thanks! I checked all of the connections (5 of them...) this morning, and they all were tight!
I fired things back up: the Zantrex was reading 12.4 volts.
I fired up the generator again... it rose to 13.4
I shut things back down, and no beeping or error messages.
Did I somehow fix it??
In the meantime: I also plugged it in, for a good drink of some AC power!

That error code is somewhat of a misnomer. E05 = low voltage detected but OL = overload, which means that your rated load managed to get above the tripping point for the inverter or in general it had a short somewhere in the output wiring. It sounds like the error was corrected (or just a temporary condition) and after you turned the inverter off and then back on again the error condition cleared.
In many cases, when you see that error, it means that internal components of the inverter have gone bad (like what happened with ours) and it needs to be replaced. Glad yours doesn't!

I did manage to drop a wrench that landed across some battery terminals, and threw some sparks...
There didn't appear to be any unintentional "arc-welding": it was a momentary drop and a bounce...

Another Question
So the Missus decided that the Outlaw had been hooked-up to shore power for long enough...
After pulling the plug, coiling everything up neatly, and stuffing it all back into the undersized storage compartments: I figured that it might be fun to see what sort of readings I was getting...
When I plugged it in: the batteries were reading 12.4 volts.
This evening: they showed 13.1 volts
Does that sound normal to you guys?
(I have to ask because my claim to electrical fame; is that I never actually burned down any houses with it!)

Thanks! It's easy to get overwhelmed with all of the numbers.
I'm also probably obsessing over them due to all of the discussions about the perceived quality of Harris batteries.

So if you have a Xantrex inverter in your rig, why did you ask:

I knew that I had one (1000 watts). Some folks don't, and the information could be very useful for them.
Besides: it also gave me an idea of what an upgrade might cost.
