Sumo springs 2022 Vegas 24.1
I was wondering if adding this to my coach is actually a good addition or just sounds like a good thing to add.
Looking for some feedback from experience on a Vegas 24.1..
Thank you

My 2021 Axis 24.1 built on the new E350 chassis with the new 7.3 V8, same as yours presumably, handles just fine.
What problems are you trying to correct with the Sumo springs? I would get a good alignment first with at least 5 deg caster.

No real issues had alignment when just curious about the concept.

Our 2022 Axis 24.1 has a ride that is less harsh with front and rear Sumo springs. We live several miles from pavement and the washboard roads are smoother using Sumos. On the highway, the expansion joints are still felt but it is a smaller "thump" instead of a "kawhoop". These are approved tech terms.
Even without driving we now notice less movement inside when we walk inside the Axis. We do not kick ourselves for buying them....that says a lot for us penny pinchers.

clearance
Hi. Can I hear your opinions about seemingly low clearance of Thor Vegas, please? Any problems while getting off the paved roads? Only dirt roads lead to a lot of nice camping spots (specially in Mexico).

Great Investment
Installed rear progressive Sumo Springs made from micro-cellular urethane, a 1.5 inch rear sway bar*, Koni FSD self adjusting shocks and struts on a Quantum from
https://sprinterupgrades.com/collect...or-cab-chassis
Made a huge difference. It is now like driving a car. There is less leaning intro curlers, less bounce on potholes, less sway passing a semi, and much less movement in the RV.

The only place with low clearance on the Axis/Vegas is underneath the step and the battery box. I once got hung up on a rock sticking up about 6” there. Just powered over it and it bent the lower angle iron of the battery box but no real problem with that,
Just watch your right side going over rough terrain. The rest of the coach has better clearance.

Front Sumo's
I installed SSF-106-40 front Sumo's on my 2019 24.1 about 20 months ago. It made a big difference in lean while turning corners and seemed to reduce sway somewhat.
For the small amount of money, ($220 now, $178 2/2021 on Amazon) i feel it is a worthwhile modification. It is a fairly easy installation.

I have added “kawhoop” to my list of noises. However, if you can send an audio clip I’d love to hear what it sounds like!

My Thor Vegas 24.1
From day one, my 2022 Thor 24.1 drove like trash at speeds over 65 mph. Honestly, they shouldn't be allowed on the road if winds are over 15 mph, and even on a good day, don't even think about flat towing anything.
I have read hundreds of posts, do this, do that and all your dreams will come true. I can tell you without a doubt, to fix a Vegas 24.1, it's going to take more than one modification. After thousands of dollars of upgrades, now I actually look forward to driving mine. Not one upgrade made a huge difference but all combined made the leaning, wagging, and heavy steering disappear.
List as installed order:
1. Front Alignment $200
2. Upgraded tires to Commercial Grade (stiffer sidewalls) $1200
3. Front and rear Workhorse Bilstein HD Shocks (Rear required removing muff) $650
4. Front and rear Roadmaster Sway bars $1200
5. Front and rear SumoSprings. (Rear required cutting and grinding and driver side rear brake and gas lines are located inside the frame. Drill with caution) $1000
6. Rear Super Steel Track bar $700
The bumps are smoother and there is no leaning or wagging in the rear. I can now drive with one hand at speeds over 65, no white knuckle, and I feel very safe. Flat towing my 6k pound jeep is a breeze even in the winds.
I have now moved on to reducing noise/heat and replacing all the stock junk like mattresses, couch, and driver/passenger seats.
$10k plus later, it will be a pretty nice camper.

we live some miles from pavement and enjoying camping away from crowds. That has taken us on dirt, gravel, rock type roads.
The factory tires on our 22 Axis 24.1 seemed pretty dismal for roads like that. We installed 19.5 tires with new new rims. This not only gave us much greater tire strength but also about 1.5 inch of clearance. The door step and differential both got a nice boost in height.
tjracer posted the info we used.

In my opinion, An upgraded stabilizer is only a bandaid for an inatiquet suspension. Fix the suspension and the stock stabilizer is good enough for highway travel. Now, if you travel alot of gravel or rough highways, then yes an upgraded steering stabilizer would help. As for the easysteer center force stabilizer, again, I believe it too is just a bandaid.*

19.5 are a wonderful upgrade. Did you do it without a lift and how does it look?

No lift other than the taller tires. The link in my post above has a couple pictures on or toward the last page.
There is no rubbing and the only "issue" is the speedometer is now off. We checked with only one dealer and they said they can't fix that. We use a GPS for speed and we know that at 60 showing on the speedo we are actually doing 65.

Very nice! I believe if I did the 19.5 plus the other 6 upgrades I have done to my susp, I will have a camper worth keeping long term.

I agree! A few other things such as our hot water low point being inaccessible from the factory and wanting a soft cushy mattress, with a little elbow grease ours is very functional and comfortable.
I posted about looking into better brakes, but after good advice, we will wait. We do like our 24.1. This forum has been a great source of info and knowledge gathering.

The E350/E450 chassis does not have a stock stabilizer; it is a steering damper. The F53 doesn't even have that.
The main selling point of the Safe-T-Plus stabilizer is stabilization and steering control in the event of a steer tire blow-out. The better ride is just gravy.
