Thanks! I'm kind of aware of them. The Missus is afraid of how solid they might NOT be, and having a flag pole shift around, and tear up the paint!
Can anybody tell me how well they work??

Another vote for the Uncommon Flagpole - very heavy duty!

Many years a had a simple flagpole done from aluminum. They are quite quality, but not too unsusceptible to wind. But, if to search the worthwhile parts, I have done an exceptional design for my flagpole. Leaving aside all stereotypes I made my flagpole from metal and I am using Solar Flag Pole Light. It is more useful for our environment and for your home. I have searched it for many years, and some time ago I finally found it on https://www.amazon.com/Flagpole-Ener...dp/B00YBDA7DC/

The design is very simple:

* Cut an 8-foot length of 3/4 inch PVC into 4 foot sections.
* Reconnect with male/female couplers and cap end of one section.
* Drill 1/4-inch holes through capped section of PVC to align with grommets in your flag.
* Attach flag with wire ties.
* Drive a 18 or 2- inch piece of 3/8-inch rebar into ground and slide flagpole with attached flag over the rebar.

When ready to travel, unscrew flag pole sections and lay sections side-by-side and roll flag around both sections and you're ready to stow until next time.

I made a cloth sleeve to slip over my flag to protect it when it is not being displayed.
Awesome MasterChief!

I have the mount that you drive a tire on. My pole will take two 5' flags and it has a super high quality LED light on top which lasts all night. When you drive in a CG where we are set up you can certaintly see our flag from several sites away.

If you go on their site and buy one of their poles you will never need another one. You can also use it at home also. When we had our house it would take me about 2 minutes to remove it from the front yard and secure it in the basement of the coach for travel.
The flagpoles from Uncommon are great, but they are not bullet proof. I bought one in 2005 and use it every holiday. It has finally given up. The bushings are worn out and I can't get some of the sections to get all the way out. I will be ordering another, however and use it for another 16 years!
