Frig won't turn off!

I Four Winds 24HL and recently had a gray water tank removed to fix a leak. Now that I have the unit back home I've discovered that the frig stays on when the RV is plugged into shore power even if the switch position is at "off".

Has anyone seen this happen and do you have any thoughts on what would cause it?

Thanks!

huh...that's strange but sounds like it's completely unrelated to the grey tank replacement.

1) you could try turning off the outlet breaker and then turning back on, sort of a re-set
2) it could coincidently be a bad switch or circuit board in the fridge

assuming that you have the typical 3-way switch on the front of the fridge (auto, off, propane-only)...
1) can you get the fridge to run on propane only?
2) when you place on auto mode and unplug power, does it automatically go to propane?

Thanks for your suggestions! It's weird... the frig turns on when the rv is plugged in no matter what position the switch is in, "auto, "off, or "gas". Even when I put the switch on "gas" and turn off the propane tank, it is on!

I took off the back cover on the outside of the coach and found a plug so I've unplugged that as a temporary fix. Guess I need to call Norcold and ask them for tech support.

Sounds like your control board is stuck in Auto? Do you not have a Electric only option? if so it could be stuck in Auto or Electric only.

Check your manual to see if you can reset your control board. I bet that will fix, although being unplugged overnight may fix it as well.

Sounds like the 120 VAC heater relay on the control board has failed in the closed position. This will apply 120 VAC to the heating element any time you have SP or the generator running WITHOUT thermostatic control. You need to unplug that 120 VAC plug in the back of the fridge and leave it unplugged until you resolve the control board issue.
