Leveling with front wheels off ground?

New to RVing. On our first big trip I went to level and the front wheels
were about 4” off the ground. Back wheels definitely fully down. Should Inuse those leveling blocks under those front wheels or is that ok and safe for a night or two?

I would never stay overnight with any wheels off the ground if I could help it. Too many opportunities for bad things to happen. Did you manually level or use the "Automatic Leveling" feature?

I have seen this and even done it myself but would prefer not to have wheels oh the ground if possible. I have even had my rear wheels off the ground and blocked the front. The jacks are fine with this but I would suggest leveling manually and trying to keep all wheels down of possible. If not, don't lose sleep over it.

I agree with Miramar Owner - I would try leveling manually to see if you can keep all of the wheels at least touching, if not you can use wood or cement blocks. The jacks can handle it but if it rains (for example) the jack pads themselves can slide and then put an undue amount of stress on the shaft and cylinder of the jacks. If it is just overnight, you can probably get away with it (depending on circumstances.)

We never auto level anymore. It was never accurate and it moved like it wanted to tear the coach apart. We use manual and leveling blocks when needed.

Over time I have read many posts about this and have seen many opinions on both sides. Recently we had our Windsport in for service at a dealer I trust (not CW) and I asked them. They said it was fine to have the front wheels off the ground . My opinion is that sometimes it can not be avoided and having the coach level before extending the slide is more important. In my travels I am always seeing Rvs with their front in the air. Near where I live I know of two homes where people have their Rvs in the driveway with their fronts in the air all the time. This I would not suggest. For short stays I would not loose any sleep.

Sites are often graded to allow water to flow off the site at the driveway. Often the grade is sufficient, that to be level the front wheels are off the ground. I really never worry much about it, sometimes need to put an additional step in front of the motorhome step, to get in and out. Actually better with the fronts wheels off the ground, instead of the rear, as the parking brake locks the rear wheels.

Totally agree on manual leveling. Auto feels like a ride a Disney.

I've recently seen a Super-C that had it's front end up WAY higher than the O.P.'s..
If that's what it takes to get level: I'm good with it.

Ours is very solid on the jacks, even with wheels up.

Our 17 CHALLENGER 37 TB would put the front, and rear off the ground.
The service tech at Buddy Greg's RV and Motorhomes recalibrated our levelers, now it never raises our wheels completely off the ground, however we've been on pretty level sites.
I downloaded a level app on my Google Pixel 2 XL and place it on the floor midships. Levelers on auto, Puts it right on the ball every time !

Every once in a while you need to reset the level on the auto level. Look in the manual, after you have it leveled how you like it reset the panel to tell it you are level. The next several times auto level will work great. If it all of a sudden seems like you are not level then reset again. We did that about once a year.
The jacks should be good even if you had all 4 wheels off the ground. Ours only seemed unstable if the front ones were out too far. I would fix that by putting blocks under the jacks themselves before leveling, that way there wasn't as much ram sticking out. That would seem to make it much more stable.

I just downloaded the app, and I can see that this'll be the start of a "Beautiful Relationship"... Thanks again!

Now I've got to go find something out of level...
