GVWR question

Hi, first post after intro.
Considering buying a 2015 Axis 24.1 where I live on Vancouver Island BC.
I have been reading all of the posts, but am right now focusing on gross and axle weights.

The one I am looking at is the E350 model 0241 with 12,500 GVWR based on the info label by the driver's seat.

Thor website shows the current Axis 24.1 as E450 but says 12,500 GVWR, so I am taking that as an error and really E350. The 25.1 shows E450 and the apparently correct 14,500 GVWR. We want the 24.1 with twin beds.

I have read several discussions where people seem to be saying that the 24.1 comes with an E450 at 14,500 GVWR.

Has the 24.1 been made with E350 and E450 chassis? I think some posters in the following thread seem to say yes but I am confused.

Also, I took the rv on a test drive and went over some scales and got 4940 front and 6680 rear for a total of 11,620. This was with full fuel, low water, and empty coach in sale condition. Just two (not light) individuals in the seats.

The GVWR is 12500, so 880 lbs to go, however I estimate at least 200 lbs of water not on board for full fresh water tank, leaving 680 lbs for "stuff" which should be ok but getting tight.

The GAWR ratings are 5000 front and 8500 rear. No problem on rear.
For front, the scale weight is 4940, leaving 60 lbs.

I expect much of the 680 lbs (and possibly the remaining fresh water capacity) will be loaded between the axles and will add to the front weight and it seems that the front will be overloaded 200-300 lbs in real life usage.

Is this normal?

The two main questions are:
1. Has the 24.1 been built with E350 and E450 chassis?
2. Do 24.1 models with E350 routinely overload the front axle? Or the GVWR for that matter.

Original Axis and Vegas were all built on E-350 with the 12,500-pound GVWR. THOR switch to E-450 and then back to E-350 at least twice for 24.1 floorplan as best as I recall.

Keep in mind that much of the cargo space is behind rear axle so it will help unload front end. JamieGeek and others have posted 24.1 weights and I don’t recall anyone being over the axle ratings. I was very interested in the 24.1 for a long time so I followed all related threads closely.

P.S. — Ford chassis specs are essentially the same except for rear axle and springs. The front axle, wheels, tires, etc. are the same.

Yes the 24.1 came with either e3t0 or e450 base. We looked specifically for e450 based unit. The OCC or load capacity was 3.199 lbs on our unit. The e350 based 24.1 was 1250 lbs. We use the 24.1 to tow a drag car around southeast US. The floorplan works great us as unit is fully functional with slide in. We always travel with as much eeight as possible in rear compartments and light stuff in front as unit is always close to max on front axle. Carryimg extra wster, parts, tools, food and clothes the heaviest we been is almost 13,000 lbs, GCVW WAS 18,500 LBS ON 22, 000 GCVW. Even with 500 lb tongue weight, unit handles fine. We are going on 4 years and 25,000 miles and are very happy with unit. If you need the capacity I would never condider e350. If you do not need to run full like we do the e350 is fine.

What is the GVWR on the scheduled truck? It has a 7.4 liter engine, standard cab.
