HughesNet Gen 5

Anybody have HughesNet and care to comment/share on their service?

Seeing some new 'faster speeds' and 'no data limits' on their Gen 5 service and was wondering if they deliver as promised - past or present.

I paid the early cancelation, 11/2018, fee and went back to my hotspot. I found using my cell as the hotspot was just as fast and most importantly it was more reliable. The two items they would want back are the modem and transponder on the antenna.

It is the worst service I have had since the old DSL days. As I sit here less than 15 feet from the modem, I can press enter, pick up and sip my coffee and look down waiting for the pitifully slow response. I am in an area that had no other choices for internet service or I too would cancel. Absolutely dissatisfied. Oh, and don't even think about streaming unless you enjoy watching the little circle spin nearly continuously.

Thank you for your honesty. I've read similar reviews but didn't know their situation. Here, I know I'm talking to fellow RVers. Thanks for saving my hide (and wallet).

I hate it..i too have no other choice..their best plan gives me 50gb of data a month..after that they cut you down to a crawl hoping you will buy more data..it is unlimited internet not data..sure you can use the internet at a dial up phone speed after your data runs out..long story short it sucks!!
