Chassis battery charging on shore power?

I searched for “chassis battery” but all the posts that I found were the battery not charging off the gen or the alternator. My question is a bit different...

I’m getting ready to de-winterize my RV. The RV is a 2017 Thor Outlaw 38RE. I’ve had it plugged in all winter to 50A shore power. I know that this kept the house batteries charged but I never considered the vehicle batter under the hood (I’m sitting in the house right now, away from the RV). Does that charge while on shore power? Or should I get a battery tender and charge it separately?

If the BIRD or BIM, whichever is installed, is working correctly your chassis battery should be charged.

Also, if you ran the vehicle and drove it a short distance (to operating temp), per manufacturers recommendations, you shouldn't have a problem.

My 2017 29h has a timed isolation relay, not a bird. I only charge from engine to chassis battery, not the other way.
Easiest way to correct it is to use a battery tender while on shore power.

This is the easiest way to solve that problem.....

I installed it on my 2018 29H when I had it. The chassis battery was maintained when plugged into shore power or throw my solar setup.
