Jeep wrangler

Has anyone here towed a Jeep Wrangler with the cloth top on it and had any problems ?
Getting ready to head south and the grandkids want me to take the hard top off and put the cloth on. How much turbulence would the motor home create on the Jeep ?

Anyone ?

We have towed our Jeep with the original soft top for about 9000 miles without any issue.

And, having driven the Jeep on the interstate in Utah, where the speed limit is 80, I can say it's probably better off behind the RV. Since your asking, I'm assuming you have driven the Jeep on the interstate--it's not the most aerodynamic vehicle and is not especially quite on the interstate!

Good points, I've never had the soft top out of the bag so I guess it's time to give it a try. Thanks

In the neighborhood of 6000 miles towing a soft top Wrangler - No issues at all with the top. More protected behind the RV than on its own.

Oh, in that case...

If you have both a hard top and a soft top, I'd personally keep the hard top. I have thought several times about purchasing the hard top. The soft top is noisy and is a pain in the butt to get anything big in to the back (two zippers and a unhooking the bottom of the back window is a lot to simply put groceries in the back!). I did get a Jeep with a hard top as a rental one time when we went out to Moab. I thought the hard top was the way to go.

I'd try out the soft top before you make up your mind. I'm there are other people who prefer the soft top.

I'm a hard top guy all the way. I could see a soft top with doors off or even a bikini if in Moab or four wheeling. But for just getting around hard top is what I want.

Thanks guys, I'll just leave the hard top in place and take it off when the weather permits.

I have towed our jeep over 7,900 miles interstate with no issues

Our 90 YJ had a soft top and towing wasn't a problem behind a class C.
