Update

I talked to a customer specialist, she told me she would warranty the radio because it was only slightly out of warranty. ASA gives 90 days beyond the 1 year on this because of the known problem. Now, get this, she told me it would be a re manufactured one...I asked if they fix them because I was told they did not, she said another company does it for them. I asked if the re manufactured unit had an up graded display as that is the weak part and she said yes. This means you can send the unit and have it fixed. I do not know the name of the company, I asked her to give it to me to post here when I call her back at the end of the trip I am on. Anyone calling should press for this information. I will post late Jan when I return home. My unit came alive after 3 days, I ultimately cleaned the plug, it came on blank and I just left it powered on for a couple days, one day I looked at it and the clock was visible, and it is working again. I told the lady at ASA that and she agreed to still warranty it.

Thanks petaf! I had the same information of you... But mine come with my 2013 motorhome. I talked with a the technical support and they said to me that they are not selling parts anymore for this radio. So, if the problem doesn't need a part it's OK, but otherwise it's often not possible to repair it. I bought a new one, identical (JRV212T) at rvcams.com for 570$US. Tim, the owner is very nice and the price is good. I'm suppose to receive it in few days. Here's the link... RV Cams Jensen Double-DIN Stereo/6.2" Touch-Screen Backup Monitor

Having the same issue it seems...
The radio is currently 'resting' on the console all unplugged for an hour to see if that helps.
Had gone out back in Sept - but came back on by itself about 24 hours later... Worked fine till the day before our current trip - went to fill propane - and set coach to Store... When I got back home (5 miles) and flipped back to Use - no display... stayed that way for trip from Michigan to Florida (wonderful not to have cameras... least I didn't have need to back up - toad prevents that...) and then some... Picked up the removal tool at local auto parts store (didn't get one with the RV) and got it out in about a minute of fiddling.

More to come...

Bizarre it happen to me too when I get it out from storage...

How many of us had this problem (blank screen, etc) related with the "storage swirch"? Me, I have a Thor Ace 2013 and I just want to know if the problem can be repeated for my next storages... I do not want to pay a radio each time!

Thanks!

Still no display... Called tech support at ASA - and walked thru what I did... His conclusion of course is the unit needs to be replaced - and recommended the 215...
I do have an extended warranty - but to use that - they will only work with a dealer (any dealer I choose). So far the local dealer (CW) says they need the entire coach for a warranty claim - not just the radio... and the RV is pretty well parked and in use for the next few months.. (telling the wife I need to take it to CW for a few days just isn't going to work).
Guess I won't have cameras/radio for the ride home either..
Unless someone has other suggestions?

After sitting for about 3 days unplugged (since my last post) - I hooked up the radio again yesterday - and it actually came on?!?!... Controls all worked... set the clock... turned it off (clock display on as it should be...)
Looked at it a couple of hours later - and clock still displayed - unfortunately locked on a time 20 min after I hooked it up... and no controls worked (didn't try inserting a CD as I didn't want to get one stuck in there...)
Something definitely not happy in this unit...
Removed and unplugged again this morning.

The storage switch knocks off power to the unit, but not all power as the yellow wire from the chassis battery supply power for memory. I put power to my unit but it did not help, I think the switch is common fault but not the problem, it is in the display stuff. Maybe when the unit is re powered the display has issue. Remember, ASA has these rebuilt, so they can be fixed.

In my case (2014 Hurricane) - while there are two power leads - they are both powered by the coach batteries and disconnected with the use/store switch... It has never retained clock/settings between uses. (and likely preferred this way as there is no chassis disconnect switch on this unit for long term storage)
The impression I got from the tech at ASA was that it is related to 're-powering' the unit... Trigger certainly has seemed to be the use/store switch.

I have a 2014 Hurricane 27k, and have tested the yellow and red power wires in various switch positions. Yellow is hot when store is selected. You are correct in the re power scenario, that seems to be a common issue, but ASA claims display issue, maybe when power goes out display circuit has a bad connection so a restart misses, ie, hot all the time keeps a minimal connection alive. just guessing. metal expands when hot, so when goes cold the connection dies. or some element within the display board has the same sort of problem.

It could be something as simple as a cold-solder joint which cracks with repeated heat/cool cycles making for an intermittent connection.

Can't believe Thor is still sending units with bad windshield washer motors out of the factory. I have a Vegas 24.1 built in early 2014 and they had a bunch of problems with them then. Since I have not heard anything in a while, I thought they had solved that problem. You would think they would put it on their "quality control" checklist?

I guess I can join the Jensen "victims". My coach is at my dealer, for winterization and several warranty items. When they went to back it out of the shop yesterday - NO REAR CAMERA!! Then they realized that the entire Jensen went dead. They are trying to order the replacement (warranty), and will let me know if they can get it before we head to Florida end of this month.

Just a follow up, new radio should be in next week. Also adding a hardwired Progreesive 50amp surge protector.

Left it for a week this time.. unplugged. Plugged it back in and been working fine now for 24 hours... Maybe I'll actually have cameras for the ride home... but it has to make it over 2 more months to get there.. Don't intend to cycle the use/store switch anytime soon - and have no confidence that the problem is 'fixed' - just masked for the moment.

My nav screen went black face and the dealer found a bad ground so I hope this solves my issues with 212!
If not I want it swapped with the 215!

Try pulling the radio out and disconnecting the power plug( I think it is square and on the left of the radio back) leave off for 24 hrs I was told ( hard reset) . This worked, if your still under warranty -shhhh, don't mention this!

In my month long trip I did everything listed in this thread including using vodka to clean the plug.. just dipped my finger in some and rubbed on both sides of the connection and plugged it in wet. Screen still came up Blue LED on side, dead otherwise..left it on all night and awoke to a live radio again. Set the time and off we go. Worked perfect the rest of the trip. Got home, hit the store switch, a couple days later went to check, click USE and the radio still working. I am going to get it replaced anyway as thye prommised me a new remanufactured one. There is def an issue with these things..

We just started having the same problem. Our motorhome is 2 years old and the face started blanking out. Everything works, including the remote, if you can remember the steps but, when it's blacked out the camera is also inop which is why this is so serious.

Following this thread, including the frustrating inability of anything to work so far.

Well, looks like I'm in good company with all the rest of you "Jensen Victims" with the same symptoms of an inoperative JRV212T. I've read through this entire thread and have done everything listed...... next I will reconnect everything and power back up to see if I have even a glimmer of hope. Will also talk with ASA rep. today. I have a 2015 Miramar 34.1 that is out of warranty. Thanks for all the good info on this problem. More later...... Joe
