Wheel well.

Does anyone know if the Axis 24.1 is supposed to have a wheel well around the front tires? Doesn't seem right that it's open to the engine compartment.

Post a picture and we can compare that to all the other 24.1 owners (such as myself) on here.

Oh and welcome to the site.

I have a Hurricane, not an Axis but it is open to the engine. I have thought about trying to do something with it but afraid I will cause over heating.

If I remember right someone else just went through that. They ordered to wheel wells from Thor and easy install, if I remember correctly. Maybe they will pick up on the thread.

So here is the wheel well on our 2014 Axis:

You can see the wheel on the bottom and what passes for a wheel well on the top with the frame in the middle and a large gap.

Our Vegas has heavy vinyl wheel wells. I took them off, Dynamatted the top sides and put them back in.

Just my rather inexpert opinion here...
Leaving them open sure should help with airflow around the engine and cooling system...

..But at the expense of noise and road grime!

So... pick your poison!
If you decide to add some wheel wells to your rig: take note of the operating temperatures of the mechanical stuff...
Good luck! Let us know if you decide to take the plunge!
