Monoprice HDMI splitter issue

Our Hurricane has 3 TVs and a Monoprice 2 in x 4 out HDMI splitter. I had to set the blu-ray player to 1080i to get the TVs to work on HDMI at all. Now the 2 indoor TVs work fine, but the outdoor TV has no sound.

So, after moving the cables on the box around a few times without any change in results, I disconnected the HDMI cable leading to the outside TV from the Monoprice box and plugged it directly into the blu-ray player. Now the outside TV works fine, but of course the others don't work at all.

Does this problem sound familiar to anybody?

Sounds like the copy protection is not handshaking when it goes through the HDMI splitter.

Resolved. Took out Samsung blu-ray. Put in a Sony player. Set player resolution to 1080i before connecting to Monoprice. All good! Samsung works fine at home so all's well that ends well.
