Haven't done any of these - we did do 5 Star Tune and we love it. Another great source of information is http://www.irv2.com/forums/f23/.

In addition to a 5 Star tune, I installed a Banks cold air intake system. Together they seem to work really nice. I bit more intake noise but works nice. The stock exhaust is a 3" system and a huge cat.

I did the 5 Star Tune and made my own cold air intake for less than $10. I used a clothes dryer exhaust vent, removed the louvers, painted it black, zip tied to back side of grill on passenger side, ran vent hose to air box snorkel and secured with hose clamp. Perfect fit, easy to do.

I also went with the 5-Star Tune/Banks intake on our 2016 Miramar 6-speed.

Better shifting points, drops one gear at a time going by uphill in cruise instead of the OEM two gears.

Overall drivability improvement but subtle. IMO, worth it IF you are an engaged driver, otherwise better to upgrade something inside your rig.

A question about the 5-Star tuner: How (if at all), does it affect your fuel economy?

They offer an economy tune and a power tune--at least they did when I got it on my F-350.

Problem was I loved the power tune so much that I likely dropped 1-2 mpg as it was too much fun to drive . (May not be an issue in a motorhome--maybe it is! LOL)

It'd be nice if the NHRA offered a Motorhome Class (with, and without a Toad...)

JamieGeek is spot on. Buy the 5 Star for better performance merging into traffic, improved shifting driving up hill and overall use of cruise control. I thought initially I'd seen my MPG tick up from 6.5 - 7.1 all the way to 6.6 - 7.2 but not really sure. After 35k+ miles in 2.6 years, I've quit computing the MPG and just know that miles to empty is somewhere north of 500 miles after a fill up. I then get back in the captain's chair and mush on - happy for every minute I get in my coach.

Just our way to moving on down the journey.

I use SCT to tune my show/drag truck, a 99 Dodge Dakota R/T. It works great for a high performance application. Now, that said, I just can't justify the expense of the 5 star tuner for a motorhome! Spending over $500 bucks for no gain in mpg seems a HUGE waste! I can deal with the peculiarities of trans shifts and climbing hills a little slower. Driving/site seeing in the motorhome is supposed to be a slower more relaxed experience anyway. As always, we all have our own point of view and reasoning.

99dart - yep. Exactly why I got the 5 Star Tune. Bought mine quite some time ago for exactly the reasons you offered. I am able to relax and let the coach do the work without micro adjustments.

Like you say, just my two cents after 35+ miles in the last 30 months.

I did this mod on my 29x windsport and it gave me better acceleration and better gas mileage. And only cost $25.
I used the dryer vent and elbows but used a steel flex tubing not dryer venting and made a nice smooth bend up to the air intake. I also but some fine mesh over the dryer vent adapter to keep bugs and other crap out.

On our annual trip to Florida from Ontario Canada we used 5 gallons less and actually went 35 miles further and had better acceleration so I say do it.

Does anyone have a link to the proper Banks kits for an E-450 chassis?
