Progressive Industries EMS

We have the camper plugged in at the house getting ready for a little trip. The weather here has been horrible, tons of gulf moisture with a lot of electrical storms. The EMS-PT50X has been getting a real workout. It has sensed over volts on the line a number of times. Each time it has shut off until the volts drop. I think it has paid for itself and I am one happy camper.

I am also glad to here this because I purchased one when we bought our new coach. This purchase was based on a thread on this forum where every post recommended Progressive Industries.

Spoke too soon about the 50X. Left on a trip today and at the first stop the thing is dead. It appears that it got water logged in the rain at home and now will not power on. The 'weather resistant' packaging did not stand up to 10 consecutive days of Texas rainfall. Will have to contact PI when I get back home. The unit is only 4 months old, hopefully they will warranty it.

Not sure how they are made but do you think you could dry it out somehow...like when you put a cell phone in a "rice pack"?

I have unscrewed the plastic coupling nut where the power cord enters the unit, moved the rubber gasket and hung it upside down from a tree in the campground. A lot of water came out the first day. Gonna plug it in tonight to see if it dried out and is going to work.

The best of luck to you!
I'd plug it into a power-strip that had it's own fuse...

Progressive Industries has stepped up and they are sending me a new unit. I filled out the warranty claim form online and within a couple of hours got an email saying to destroy the old unit that a new one was in the mail. Yeah PI.

I have the 30amp EMS and it has tripped a few times at the CG we are staying at. I have had the code for both high and low voltage. I called Progressive and they asked if the CG electrical post has the lights that turn on and off automatically. They said that it could make their units shut off when the lights come on or off. I have been on two other trips with my EMS unit but this is the first CG that this has happened at.

I received my new unit from PI today. From email to customer service to new unit on the front porch 7 days. I think that is fantastic. I couldn't ask for more.
