Putting fuel in 33.3 palazzo

Got a diesel pusher 33.3 with duel fuel fills, but the nozzle will not stay in by itself, I have to hold the nozzle to fill it, Kind of makes dual fills useless. any body else with same problem...

Yeah, my 33.2 is the same way. It appears that the filler tubes have too shallow a drop to the fuel tank. On the bright side, my coach gets pretty good mileage, as motor homes go, so I don't have to refill too often!

On my 2015 Tuscany 40DX I have to turn the pump up side down for it to stay in the Freight Liner fuel filler. When it shuts off automatically it most likely will jump out on the ground! Have to listen to hear it getting near full and hang on to it!

Our Tuscany was the same way, somebody didn't think the filler problem all the way thru. I propped the nozzle up with an old dish sponge and that worked, but the sponge got to stinking of fuel after a few refills. I started keeping the sponge in a ziplock bag but of course you have to get it out every time you need it and that's a PIA too!

It seems that Thor has a long and well developed experience in this. My Hurricane has the same problem, I have to even hold the filler nozzle kind of sideways to prevent it from shutting off every gallon or so of fuel dispensed.

One should think they would have found a way to correct this problem, if they were interested in solving it!

Hudsoner, I don't have that problem on our Windsport, stays in just fine. I wonder if it has to do with chassis improvement. Since the chassis comes from Ford, with a fuel filler in place, maybe Ford has done something different.

You don't display the year of your coach, so again, I'm wondering if Ford changed something.

Same thing with C Witt's coach, chassis supplied but Freightliner, might be a flaw with them and not Thor.

It was an issue on my 2000 Infinity - but not on my 2014 Hurricane...
If I recall - Thor relocates the fuel filler when adding the MH to the chassis.

I have a 2002 Hurricane. I think it is because Thor wanted (wants??) to keep the fuel filler door below the floor level of the coach to avoid the need to run a fuel line through the living level of the coach, which could be a regulatory nightmare, who knows?
Because of this, the entire filling system (filler door and hose to the tank) is rather flat and on a similar level plane. Any way, the need to hold the handle until all 80 gals are filled in can be a pain you know where once in a while.
