Ags working and then disconnects

I have a 2023 magnitude with the multiplex wiring system and associated panel. I figured out how to turn on the AGS system and verified that by waiting for a low battery condition to see if the generator would start. It did, and I was happy and went on to other things. A day or so later I went to check the system and it was disabled. I’m wondering if there are conditions which cause that to happen such as turning on the truck motor and essentially shifting the system to alternator power. I’ve had a lot of issues with his motorhome, most of which are my own fault for not doing a better PDI but the fact exists a lot of things don’t work, and I don’t know what is proper working for the AGS system, so I don’t know whether I have a problem to be dealt with. Thanks. .

I don't know of your system. but my AGS has 3 modes.

Auto
Quiet Time
Manual

When I put in Auto mode to do what you did, it will go to Manual automatically based on a few things that I may do, i.e. turn the ignition switch on or off, release park brake. It is frustrating at times, but in my situation it is all about Safety so it is not left in Auto mode by mistake. I would read the fine print of your manual.

AGS is primarily for situations when you are away from and unavailable to manage temps and charging conditions. Starting the chassis engine or altering any input charge seems would cause an interference. I would check with Thor engineers (lose term) for detailed operations of it.

Well, at this point, I can say with some certainty that Thor has at least two varieties of the multiplex system, and that one of those offers a lot more management alternatives to management of devices, then the one that I own. My unit does not offer the alternatives that you describe but also there are many the things that the Thor video says are possible with the multiplex system that are not options available to me.

What are you say makes sense and leave me, including that there’s no need to contact the Thor (engineers). Besides, they are probably preoccupied, trying to find ways to degrade the quality and usefulness of the parts they’ are specing out so that the coach can be built with less cost as a hedge to inflation and protection of profits. For example, I could not get hot water from my tankless water heater when I was using only the bathroom sink. Turns out the flow restrictor plate at that faucet was built with holes that were too small (too restrictive) to trigger the tankless hot water systems function. Because of my insufficient PDI this was not discovered until I was on a trip and cost me a day of sitting around waiting for warranty service to figure out what happened. So the lost day is really on me, but I think this situation illustrates the trends that effect, not only what we can find on a PDI the things that are going to happen after the fact of purchase.
