Replacing and Adding Batteries

Hello helpful forumites!
Can you tell me if y'all switched to AGM batteries and your experience?
If you stayed regular wet cell and installed the easy fill why or why not?

Several threads on this subject Summer. Swapped out our two 12 volts for two AGM Lifeline brand 6 volts. Since they are taller, they were mounted on their sides instead. Seem to work just fine.

All I'm getting in research is AGM is the way to go.
If I follow thru, will probably go with replacing AGM and then adding two more. Not sure how that is done but will try seeking threads.

We switched to AGM and added 2 more for added off grid capacity. We also added 400W of solar to help keep them charged with less use of the generator.

Replacing 2- 12 Volt Batteries with?

I'm researching this too. I have had 2- 12 volts (recently deeply discharged) and think I might upgrade to 2- 6 volt golf cart. I am reading about the parallel vs series wiring requirements….to be sure 12 volts meets the existing 12 volt system. I am also thinking I need to check the existing converter's ability/suitability to maintain the new 2- 6 volts.

Last summer I installed four, 6 volt deep cycle wet cell batteries. We have a residential fridge in our Quantum WS31. I tried two, 6 volt first, it didn't make it through the night.
You first need to determine if your battery box will fit four batteries. Mine would fit four, but I had to do some creative "clearance'ing" (I don't think that is a word) to make my area tall enough.

When our 3 - 12V wet-cell OEM house and chassis batteries went bad, I replaced them with 4 - 6V deep cycle AGMs for the house and a 12V AGM for the chassis. I've replaced wet-cell batteries with AGM technology in my boats and got enhanced service life and performance from them. Also, they are maintenance free, can be mounted in any position other than upside down, and tolerate vibration better than wet-cell. I am no electrician; however, my understanding is all (house and chassis) batteries need to be of the same technology (e.g., AGM) for the converter/inverter charging system to work properly. Further, 6V Golf Cart type batteries, regardless of technology, are true deep cycle batteries vs 12V, which are, at best, a compromise deep cycle/starting battery. Therefore, the 6V option provides better deep cycle performance and longevity.

Potential downsides are added expense, weight and space requirements. Fortunately, my situation did not require any modifications to accommodate the 2 additional batteries. And I believe the added upfront expense will be mitigated, if not outright balanced, by the addition of the 6Vs and AGM technology.

I replaced my factory batteries with AGM's (2) 200 amp batteries, I have 400 watt of solar. I am happy with them

I've just replaced my 2 12-volt wet cell Interstate 24's with 2 12-volt wet cell Kirkland 27's. I paid a local mechanic $90 for the install. It was the cheapest option with (IMO) a decent outcome. The new ones have more capacity than the 24's; they come with a 12 month replace guarantee and, since I'm not sure how my OEMs got fried, better than spending more for the same result.
I'm off on a 10 day trip so I will be putting them to the test shortly, Nancy

May not be cost effective but I'm kinda sold on the AGms now, otherwise gotta put the battery filler add-on thingy in there.

Anyone know how big the bank can be in the Aces (esp the 30.2)?

So maybe sales was right, boy it's jus a big Golf Cart ! lol
