Axxera radio requires generator

After hitting the road from Ft Myers to Jupiter FL last week, I attempted to fire up my Axxera AV614BH so I could use the side mirror cameras. After several attempts, no bueno. We stopped for gas, and I continued to try to start it, with no luck. Around an hour into the trip, I fired up the generator to cool the coach, and voila! the radio came on, and worked fine through the rest of the trip. Earlier this morning I again tried to fire up the radio, with ignition switch on, then with the engine running. No luck. I fired up the generator, and the radio came on with no problem. I switched off the generator, and the radio remained on until I shut down the engine. My instinct is that it's not supposed to work like this. Anyone have thoughts?

Sounds again like the infamous solenoid under the bed. Are you able to get cabin lights to turn on when the radio won't? If not I guarantee it's that solenoid. Seems like they are breaking down left and right.

Lights are no problem, but I've also noticed the generator won't start unless the engine is running. Does the generator get starting power from the house batteries when the engine isn't running, even though I'm on shore power?

How is your "Use/Store" switch set?
Since the radio runs off of the coach batteries: it should be in the "Use" position.

I figured it best to just double-check on the simple stuff first: thanks!

House batteries

Check to make sure your house batteries are >12V. If the coach has been sitting and the house batteries are low.. It sounds like the transfer switch under the hood (I forgot what it is called) or the other transfer switch (use/store) is probably the issue as long as the use/store is in the use position.
