New Axis low point drain.

Looking at Mr. Felkers Axis guidebook just wondering if the low point drain on a 2022 Axis 24.1 is still the fresh water drain? There have been a few minor changes to the Axis since this was re-vised.

We have found the water heater drain plug and the fresh water drain valve.

Is that all there is?

I found the low point drains. They are now a spring loaded valve.
You can only see the blue line because the assembler at Thor decided to put the red line under the fresh water line and coat it with black foam sealer.

This is sure a good upgrade from twist valves that are out in the open.

This is a serious question…what is the purpose of the line drains? I understand the need to drain the water heater but not the lines. When I winterize I just flush the system with antifreeze until everything runs pink and I can’t think of any other time I’d particularly want the lines full of air between uses.

Some winterize by blowing out the water with compressed air. Low point drains help with that.

When I open those drains on my Axis 24.1 I don’t get much water out, but I suspect that there is more trapped in the lines downstream. “Low point” isn’t quite accurate.

yack... installers.. I just found similar on my coach, had to unscrew an access panel outside of the shower to get to them.. Much nicer than those plastic valves that always seem to be in a weird place for leverage.

I believe I found my low point drains. There is a panel under the shower door, remove 4 screws and right there are the red and blue lines with the springloaded pulls on them. drains under motorhome.

When you open low point drains to drain th water in the lines, also open all the faucets in the kitchen, vanity, and shower. That allows air into the lines and helps the water drain faster.

Also, DavidEm above talked about winterizing using compressed air. That is the only way I do it. Blows all the air out of the lines. Don't forget to also winterize the outside shower. nRemember to pour some RV antifreeze into all the traps in the shower drain and kitchen drain.

Those of you with residential refrigerators with ice makers, you'll need to check here on the forum. I'm clueless on how to winterize a residential refrigerator.
