Replacing the Axxera

I’d like to replace the Axxera in my 38RE with a better unit. I know that several members have replaced theirs. What make / model has the same footprint that fits without any modifications to the console?

Any double din of your choice.
Posts 119 and 186 in my signature thread has pictures showing a 10.1 inch screen android 9 radio head.

Mines an eonon.
No need to buy anything high end. The cab make so much noise and the chips are just about standardized now.

There are screens up to 13" available.

I used a mid level Kenwood from Crutchfield. I wanted the same radio I put in my Wrangler so I don’t have to learn or remember different systems. (I’m old and that kind of simplicity is beginning to matter to me!). Slipped right in. My next mod is to add steering wheel or column radio controls because it’s a long reach to the radio and it requires too much of my attention to even change the volume on the road.

Axxera

Go to any good automotive stereo shop. Anything will be better.
