Refrigerator on gas

New RV last week. Cannot get the refrig to light on gas? Tank is on stove lights no problem, hot water htr no problem. Removed gas line to frig to purge but nothing coming out. Is there a valve some where that can be off?

Usually the only valve is the one on tank. You may have a bad gas valve on the fridge. Also, if you aren't getting gas to the fridge then you need to trace the line back and check for connections. Since you aren't getting gas at the valve when you crack the line your line might not be hooked up, wouldn't be the first time!

If you removed the gas line from the refrigerator and nothing was coming out, it sounds like the factory did not connect the line. I know of no valve on the gas line to the refrigerator.

Sometimes when the refrig hasn't been run on LP for awhile, you might have to light a burner to get some gas flowing, then switch the refrig on. This is especially needed if you let the LP tank run dry.

You may find it's just an air lock keeping your refrig from starting!

This is the gas valve for your refrigerator:

It is normally opened by 12 volts applied to the solenoid but if the screwdriver valve is aligned across the flow (instead of in-line with the flow) it will shut off the gas as well.

Is the solenoid clicking when the refrigerator is switched to gas? Does the flame lighter start clicking? If yes, you may have a gas problem. If no you may have a controller problem.

Again, since you have no flow when cracking the fitting you need to trace down the line and see if it is even connected to the gas distribution line.

My new fridge oftens takes two or three failed attempts before it works. Gets aggravating but it does eventually work.

Traced gas line to manifold under MH. Found 1 gas line hose kinked and twisted. Removed connection and took twist out of gas line hose, reconnected and all is good. Thanks for all the advise. I also called Thor and they emailed me the schematic of all the gas lines in the coach.

Glad you were able to find and correct the problem!
