Surge Protection

Our 2017 Thor Tuscany has a built in Surge Guard system. Do we still need one to plug into power posts at locations we visit?

I looked up the model online. This device constantly monitors the input power for abnormalities and will automatically switch to the generator if a problem is detected.

I would think that you do not need an external surge protector with this. {Just one man's opinion. If your RV blows up, please don't yell at me.}

IMHO you would not need it with that SurgeGuard product installed. On our last two fivers I had a similar SurgeGuard system install to protect everything. My current Challenger did not come with any such animal so I am using the portable plug in, but you have a really nice system.
