tankless hot water heater

Have a Vegas 24.1 with a tankless hot water heater. First camping trip the water would get hot for a couple of minutes and then get cold. Took it in for warrenty and they said it was not firing right because it was new and the gas had to get into the line. They said should not have anymore problems. Well, second trip and the same thing is happening. Any suggestions ??

That water heater has generated a lot of discussions on here lately.

Ours was acting very much the same, we found that setting the water temp to 115 and not using the cold water at all to regulate the temp made all the difference. We also had installed a Oxygenics shower head which was a huge improvement over the stock shower head.

I will try the different temperature, but I don't run any cold water and it still goes cold just washing dishes.

I have a 24.1 and did my first trip a few weeks ago and had the same issue. Dealer is working on a list of items and said that item is fixed so we will see. But I too let it run at default temp of 115 and just a bit of cold as that is too hot, and it cycled cold/hot. I then adjusted the temp to 105 and no cold water and it was fine, but they say you should not have to do that. Dealer said there was some air in the line, truly doubt that is the problem but will try it again. I know the campground had weak water pressure and the manual on the tankless wants about 45psi minimum if I remember that correctly.

THX for posting those links Jamie, read the first one and I now see you only run hot water and then adjust the temp, no cold water. Makes sense but will reread the manual.

Hi I am new in the rv world, got ours end of last season. I just tried the hot water heater last week and allowed it to try and heat for about 45 min before I tested it. When I turned on the kitchen sink it was super hot, then it would go cold and then warm hot and cold and back and forth. Turns out there is valve under the kitchen sink that goes to the water heater and mine needed turned so it would not mix hot and cold water together and keep the two separate instead of blended. I turned one knob and all was perfect! I think it is there for winterizing purposes and that's why it was turned to how it was. Just my guess. You might take a look and see if you have the same thing happening.
