2022 Axis/Vegas driving questions.

How are the 2022 models doing as you drive them down the highway?
Some older models improved when Sumo springs and or beefy swat bars were installed.

An older thread was speculating that the 2022 models had a better front end suspension than previous years. Anyone have experience to report.

We are probably going to install front and rear Sumo springs to help with stability while parked and camping. We ended up not getting stabilizers. Figure Sumos won't cause any problems even if not needed.

We also are considering the Safe T Plus steering controller.
Any comments about this one the Axis/Vegas?

I have a 2021 Axis with the same engine/chassis. It drives pretty good. The steering has good return to center force.

If yours doesn't, get an alignment and make sure that you have at least 5 degrees positive caster.

Pre-2021 steering damper doesn’t do much
I upgraded to a Bilstein steering damper, ez install and $100 for the part.
Added much better “return to center” performance at a small expense.

That said, Saf T Plus is a very nice addition on any year of the E series chassis.
The mod is designed to really spring the wheel back to center, and keep you safe if you experience a front end blow-out.

Appreciate the recommendation for castor. We will do that!
I will look up the Bilstein damper. They make good everything else!
