Thor video: Proper use of store/use switch

Yup no kidding, they just posted this:

Perhaps they posted it due to several topics on these forums?? Who knows.

My one wish for the Axis was that they put a switch on the dash so I could turn off the spark/flames when pulling in for fuel. That's the only time I have use for a disconnect.

Very well done!

I just tap the switch with my toe on my way out the door to shut down the propane before I top off the gas tank. Naturally, I reverse the process getting back in the rig to continue our exploration.

I did state before. I took BOTH NEGATIVE cables off coach batteries & Still have Power going to the 12v ceiling lights in coach. Maybe Bimm is wired wrong?

I think A LOT of Thor RV Owners wish it was as easy as flipping a switch. That does not solve the draining issues. Because of the way the coaches are wired. Something is always on.

You're Missing the Point. The video is untrue. Type battery in search and guess what there is a huge issue. I bought the cutoff switches. If the video was true why did you install a battery cutoff on your Outlaw?

In the 2 years I've owned my MH I've never used my store/use switch. I've considered disconnecting it altogether.

Amen! Do you disconnect both House & Chassis batteries? I do.
The way mine is wired from Thor.
A lot of Newbies on here wondering why they put the switch in Store and the Rig is STONE DEAD. I am just letting them know and hopefully saving them $$ Video is Not True. Must disconnect Both House & Chassis. I agree with you! But why should we have to do that ?

So far, on our 2018 Vegas, we hit the switch to store on our way out, come back two weeks later, hit use and all the batteries are still full. No phantom drains. We've never disconnected the chassis battery.

Jerry (HalfPrice) posted a description of his finding that with the Thor design you had to disconnect the positive side of the batteries instead of the negative. I'd have to search for the post. Its in his thread Jerry's Hurricane Mods, post 3084.

Poor editing on my part. I said I’d look for it, then I posted the link to Jerry’s post

Because they were draining down to 12.2 volts in less than 3 days. After switch was installed: they'd stay good for a Month.

You proved my the point your Outlaw use\store switch didn't help you either. Thor makes it sound like the store switch will cut off power. It Does Not.
New Rver's should know this and be prepared.

Maybe they changed it for the newer coaches. We know they didn't use to cut power to the atmosphere monitors but they specifically said it does in this new video.
