Tire tread scalloping

On my Chateau class C (Ford E450 chassis), the right front tire has a strange scalloping wear pattern. I've attached a photo, but it's a little hard to see in a picture.

I had an alignment done last year, and it has new Bilstein HD shocks. The RV has 35k miles on it, and I don't think any of the suspension components are worn. It drives fine on the highway -- no pulling or vibrations.

Any idea what could be causing this?

Scalloping is normally caused by worn shocks but it can be cause by any component that allows the wheel/tire assembly to easily move: ball joints, control arm bushings, etc.

Yes, but the shocks are new and the RV is only a couple of years old.

So you're saying it's not normal for these new shocks to be bad or the front end components to be bad after such a short time?

It's also not normal for the tire to be scalloping.

Scalloping or cupping can also be caused by wheel balance. This article may help.
