Unable to pickup Satellite Tailgater Signal

Hello,

The Wife and I are new owners of a 2018 Hurricane 35M
We have dishnetwork
We have a Wally Receiver
We have a Tailgater Dish

I connected the Tailgater to the outside Coax connection (cable)
I disconnected the coax from the Antenna Booster and connected it to the Wally
No Signal

I then ran a Coax from the Tailgater to the Wally
Great Signal

Any thoughts as to why RV's coax doesn't work
I does work for Cable at an RV park

There can be no splitters, splices, or anything on the cable from the tailgater to the wally. Your coach has plenty of them in the outside coax connection. That is why it won't work through that connection. You need a direct connection from the tailgater to the wally for it to work.

portable Satellite antennas, like yours and mine, work by pushing power back out to the antenna, thru the same coax cable, from the receiver... so typical RV wiring will not handle this 'two way' direction since many RVs have multiple splitters inline to go to other TVs, etc.

Use a direct coax connection and you'll be just fine, as you stated. You'll just have to find a way to bring it into the coach - I use a slider's rubber seal for entrance. Some use a window, and other bring it in thru the roof via a plumbing pipe. Some wetbay areas also provide an entrance option if they already have a wiring/plumbing chase into the interior of the coach.

once you have the coax to the Wally can you then take the output of the Wally and plug it into the outside coax connector in order to feed all the TV's?

I use it on three TV’s. Only downfall is they are all on the same channel. Lol.

Once i get Dish to my Wally Receiver
The Wally Receiver is HDMI'd to the HDMI splitter that came with the Rig
All TV's get the same channel :-)

Our Hurricane 32n electronics caninet is over the passenger side sofa, just rearward of the drop down bunk. I added a cable from Wally down the wall (covered with a wire molding from HD) though the floor into the propane compartment. I put an outdoor cable jack on the underside of the floor when the cable comes through. This works flawlessly for me and doesn’t require fiddling with Thor’s in the wall wiring.
