Water Pressure Question
First off I understand the difference between flow (GPM) and pressure (PSI).
Out rig water pump delivers 3 GPM. Not sure of what pressure it produces. I always use a regulator on the campground water sources. But man we get not much more than a strong trickle using those. When we use the shower I just furn off city water and use the pump for more flow.
I just bought an adjustable regulator. But, obviously, I cannot find the Thor spec that states water pressure limits on the system. What is a "safe" setting. Would 60 PSI be too much? Could I go higher? Should it be lower?

I've seen that pressure regulators that aren't adjustable; seem to come in two flavors:
45 psi,
and
55 psi
I hope that this helps!

Right. The one I use is supposed to keep pressure below 50 PSI.
With this new adjustable one how high a pressure can the system tolerate?

You might check the screen that’s part of the hose washer on the water inlet. They clog up over time.

60 PSI or below is OK for an RV. Check the pressure at the post before attaching your own. If it's OK, just use a filter and all will be good. As stated earlier...the screens are small and clog up quick. I would remove them if you have a house filter system.

Thanks, but I check those things regularly. And this was a new hose and regulator. Got the new regulator thinking maybe something had gone wrong inside the old one. Nope. Just really reduces the pressure. Hopefully this adjustable one will let me dial in a better pressure.

Good luck! We all know how much fun it is, when the shower is landing on you with the force of just a "heavy dew".

This might be obvious, but have you checked your water filter, if you have one? The in line filters that you can buy at Walmart clog quickly, especially if the camp water system has a lot of sediment.

Those are flow restrictor not regulators, just FYI!
Most adjustable regulators come preset at 55psi which should be sufficient. The Pex water lines are rated for 100+psi, but wouldn't bet the plastic fittings they use to connect the Pex to are rated that high.
Also unless you are absolutely certain the faucet you connect to has constant non fluctuating pressure I'd recommend using the adjustable regulator every time, it only affects the pressure if above the set point. Most parks/campgrounds have low pressures, usually 35-40 psi, so in those parks it's best to run your water pump which is usually about 45+/-psi, so not much better. We have been in several parks with 80-100 psi & I would not use those "restrictors" on that high of pressure, only a "regulator".
There are 2 items I connect EVERY time, #1 surge protector/EMS (if you don't have one, GET ONE NOW) & #2 the water pressure"regulator".

Question: How does the regulator... regulate?
I thought that they also just restricted the flow; but gave you the option of adjusting the flow for you needs.

60 psi is what we have our adjustable regulator set at and it has worked fine. We also swapped out our OEM shower head for an Oxygenics and have never looked back... the Oxygenics was one of the best investments we made!

All regulators will restrict flow but those are regulators as well. Here's a good comparison:
