Weird Water Issue

We just purchased a 2017 Thor A.C.E. When I turn the pump off and hook up the hose to the city water inlet, after a while water starts spewing out the potable water inlet! We had a Thor Freedom Elite and this never happened. Any clues how to remedy this?
Thanks,
Sparky

Your fresh water tank is filling thru the (turned off) pump.

Happens often, lots of threads.

When you say "potable water inlet", if you mean tank fill/vent then the above post is correct.

If you mean where you connect the shore water hose, then the integrated check valve is leaking. You can try to clear it by pushing on the spring plunger, or you may need to replace it.

Or you have it in "tank fill" position. The check valve in the pump can get debris in it allowing shore water to get by and overfill the tank. Try running pump a few times to clear the debris or disassemble to clean. A few potential causes.

When referring to the two different water fill/connections, refer to them as "city water connection" and "gravity fill port"... or something similar. "City water" and "gravity fill" also work.

What if I'm out in the country, not city. If you are in Australia, down under, does the gravity fill still work?

Only if you stand on your head.

Do you have a valve for city water or tank? If you hook up to city water and don’t switch the valve it will push water to the potable tank
