What is this?

I replaced my standard batteries in my 2017 Venetian MH with AGM batteries. This Magnum Energy device was sitting on one batteries when I took them out. There does not seem to be any connector on it. Any idea what this is used for?

My guess would be a battery temperature sensor to reduce the charge voltage if it detects the batteries getting too hot.

I looked that part up and that seems reasonable. The connection to the battery must have corroded and broken off. Thanks for the information. I will have to figure out how to replace it.

Plus...you've got some really serious corrosion going on there...clean up all those terminals, emory cloth all the surfaces of the "loops" and spray with the red protector stuff you can get at any auto parts store.

Looks like a solar charger hookup that I had on my last Moho.

^^ Agreed, its the temp sensor for a Magnum Energy inverter / charge controller.
While in charging mode it throttles output to batteries based on battery bay temp. Over approx 80> Deg. less than <100% amperage would be applied.
