I have a 2019 ACE 30.3.
I switched to lithium house batteries.
I assume that the original setup will jump to a float charge and not fully charge my lithium battery. Thoughts?
Should I be upgrading one or all of these components (not sure which I have) ?
Thanks,
gordon
If you have a good working converter, it will charge LiFePO batteries fine. If you have another type lithium battery, you will have to check with the manufacturer to see what type of charger they recommend. Your present converter will not putout enough float charge to activate the BMS fully but it fits the Battle Born specifications for a charger.
From Battle Born - As mentioned above in the video, the battery prefers to bulk charge at 14.4 volts and float at 13.6 volts. Most standard chargers can handle these settings.

What you need to buy is a DC to DC converter to replace chassis battery's Interconnect management system (BIM) The Lithium batteries can draw enough current through the stock BIM to over heat the chassis alternator.

Or replace your current BIM with a lithium specific BIM.

Bo, Ace,
My 2017 does NOT charge the chassis batteries from shore or genny. Thor said it does NOT also.
I have a trombetta, yes it works the aux start for the chassis
Do I add a bird, or the BIM.
I ask cause I am changing all batteries, house and chassis batteries. I keep my mh plugged in at home when I dont use it..
The question that will follow, the BIM has 5 points to hook up and the bird only has 4. The bird is more efficient charging batteries as the bim only does a 80% plus job.
I understand in my little experience, the bird just needs a ground and the chassis and house batteries connected to it. Where do I hook the 4 port up to?
Thanks,
Terry

Looks like 5 to me. The BIRD controls the Trombetta relay. The BIM replaces both the BIRD and the Trombetta relay.

Ted,
I once did a bird on my old monaco.
#1 does not need to go anywhere. Ags is separate control on mine.
#2 goes to chassis battery pos
#3 house battery pos
#4 goes to the auxiliary start, but My works already.
#5 ground to chassis

This is how I would use it in conjunction with the trombetta.
Any thoughts?
Terry

.
First you need to check your Tronbetta relay. It is probably intermittent use relay like a Ford starter relay. For connecting the batteries, you need a 100 amp (or larger) continuous duty relay; plus it needs a 500 amp intermittent duty. Mine (after market as the original failed after 5 years) is a Trombetta "Full Silver Powerseal" (200 amps continuous and 1,000 amps intermittent)

I agree about connection #1.

Here is how Intellitec says it should be wired:

I have a 2013 Class C Chateau 24 ft. I need to know where the BIRD is located, I have a battery monitor that indicated and arrow when it was charging the house battered while driving. Recently it stopped showing and it’s not working.

You probably have the older battery control center. BIRDs did not become universal to most Thor MC RVs until 2016. In the class As, the BCC was under the hood; where plant 250 put yours is just a guess, as it sort crowded under the class C hood.
