Question Where are house batteries??

Hi folks,
Brand new to rv'ing and forum discussions and all...

We have a 2009 Thor Four Winds 24' Dakota Dutchman Class C. Don't laugh but for the life of me I can't find the location of the house batteries.

Thanks in advance!!

"Curiouser and curiouser"...
If it's not in a compartment under the entry steps: it's got to be in an outside storage bay...
But everything that I've seen seems to indicate the steps.

Not those steps; lift the wood steps in the entryway.

I think you are on the MB Sprinter chassis so that could be different.

Bob - Can you help the man out?

On the Sprinter chassis: My batteries are underneath the top entry step.
Here's a picture of them...

Is it possible its under the drivers or passengers seat on his model?

That would make sense if he cant find it anyplace else.

Just an idea. It seems like I came across this a couple of years ago an an older RV.

The driver's seat hides the chassis batteries...
The only thing under our passenger seat is cookie crumbs!

Having a issue where replies are not posting. I posted one earlier with a manual extract.

Do a Google search for 2009 Four Winds battery compartment and a link for a pdf manual will be listed. In the manual it says they are inside a compartment enclosed by a cover secured with 4 screws. Reads like they are under the stairs under a screw down thread.

Are "Scoobies snacks" where Bob's cookie crumbs originated?

Welcome to the forum! Suggest you call Thor customer service with your serial number and request all the schematics for your rig. You might also get this from the Thor website.
When you find those batteries, clean them and check them! They may be old enough to require replacing (likely for a second time!)

Under center step held down by 5 Philip’s head screws and a latch. My Class C has one 12 volt deep cell. The step cover is metal with rear hinge. Cover has sealant holding step down and sealed. You May have to lift hard getting step cover raised. And there is the battery. There is enough room for two batteries. Removed mine and it tested dead

Bob, if you had a dog you wouldn't have that problem.

We do have one... But she's more interested in getting attention: than eating the junk under the seats!

Oh! My picture of the battery box pretty much lacked any reference points for it's location.
Here's a better picture:

Found it!

Thank you everyone for your help. I did finally contact Thor and after 20 minutes of searching manuals they were able to give me an answer!!

The house battery on my 2009 MB frame Four Winds Dutchmen Dorado is located on the driver side floor closer to the middle (the transmission tunnel if you will).

It was incredibly misleading as I had previously removed the carpet section and found a gray rubberized/plastic flooring which I took for the vehicle floor.

However, after Thor's input, when simply lifted and removed the plastic flooring exposed the true floor of the vehicle and thus the battery compartment.

Again, thank you all for your camaraderie and assistance!!
