If you have air brakes they run off the air compressor mounted on your engine. You need to have the engine running and then watch pressure gauge. Air brakes use pressure to release the brakes, no pressure and the brakes will be locked up.

This may help: RV Tech Library - Introduction to Air Brakes

Also the basic site, RV Tech Library - Home Page
has a lot of RV system information.

Air brakes are a completely different animal than hydraulic systems. Air brakes use air pressure instead of hydraulic fluid, and if you have air brakes there are some inherent differences in how you should use them, vs hydraulic. Most coaches with air brakes will also have some sort of engine braking system IE: Jake Brakes, which are critical to know how to use if you are coming down a long steep grade. The short answer to the OP's question, is no fluid, only air.
