Full Timers Here.

We run exclusively off the fresh tank for all uses.. [With using the 12v pump have consistent water pressure for showers and running the washer.[laundry]
Sanitize every 6 months using the 1/2 c bleach to 15 gallon water..

[On our coach that equals to 4 cups bleach]

Note!
We run all water thru a 20 micron, a 5 micron and a .5 micron filter then thru a water softener to fill the tank.

I would hope you’re required to take a sample of that well water to be tested prior to buying the home. As long as the test comes back ok, it should be good to use.

Little things like distance between well and septic matter

Leach field or lagoon?

Alluvial or well with proper retards

We have several wells, some are for livestock only

Have the water tested for coliform and a complete analysis

Then you know how to proceed

My bother uses well water and runs it through a water softener or else massive white buildup

We use water softeners and RO in the houses.

Calcium, Magnesium, and iron can be exchanged in a good sodium cycle water softener

Thanks all. Won't be buying a house at this time just moving to a new mooring. The ground water in south Fla. can be sulfur water. The kind that leaves a rust like stain with a smell. Haven't had the chance to sample yet. Always greatfull to the Thor Forum for answers.

Sulphur water is treated via chlorination, followed by a carbon filter

That's because it is ground water used primarily for irrigation from shallow wells. Well water for drinking and household use goes down hundreds of feet to the aquifer and is much better quality water, but will still contain lime.

Most well water won’t “keep” as long as chlorinated “city water”. It’s fine to use but you’ll want to drain and flush your tank and water heater more often and likely will have to sanitize occasionally to keep things smelling good.
