Crossroads Forum
The Crossroads forum seems to be up & running, however there is nothing there & I don't see how to make a post. Iguess that way they can't get a negative post:-)

Wow. If we have to start over, might as well do it here.

Web Wiz Forums is a free software package for running a forum on. That is what you see at the top of the Crossroads forum home page. So other than their server (or the server that their website host owns but they pay for bandwidth, disk space and usage thereon), the forum itself doesn't cost.
I saved the forum activation email from back in 2010 and it was Web Wiz Forums version 9.54. The current version is 10.12. At this point I haven't found which version it is, I could go back through the registration process, but at this point, I am doing a wait and see.
However,
this page
Web Wiz Forums - Documentation & Knowledgebase
has the how-to's for doing an upgrade in place, so members and posts won't be lost.
We will see.

I agree with wincrasher... you guys might as well stay here if you have to start all over.
This forum isn't managed or owned by Thor so your posts won't be deleted if you have something negative to say about their products.
Welcome....

The reappearance of Crossroads forum can now be seen as 1 of 2 points to consider.
1. That person said there would be something out, so they just flung it out to stick on the wall and fulfill his statement.
2. They have someone working on it that has absolutely no idea what they are doing. There is no customization, no "forum topics" created, nothing. Just the simple starter home page that is included when you download the software.
I wouldn't hold my breath as to a forum appearing that is setup to the degree that the old one was.
When I told the service folks where we bought the Cruiser from, they said they don't like dealing with Crossroads anymore regarding warranty work.

Back up and running. Public perception is everything !
I am glad I was wrong in my perceptions, unless everyone's reaction to what was going on persuaded CR management that the "high road" in this situation was the best road.
At all the companies that I worked for, if a business, PR related software system had been down this long, people would have been on the carpet, let go, etc. I have seen it happen and let contractors go because of similar incompetence.
You can be sure, if they were concerned, they were monitoring this and RV.net forums to see what people's reactions were.
By the way, still hasn't changed my mind on whether or not we would ever buy another CR product.

I almost wonder if it wasn't more of a cooling off period for the warranty posts.

If Tom had stayed out of it everything would have been fine. There have been post such as the warranty post in the past and they got heated but ended up taking care of themselves.

Honesty is always, always the best way to go. If Tom had simply stated, "look, we are having problems and growing pains. We have alot of claims and just can't afford to do this anymore until we straighten things out. We think the change will help us contain costs as well as hopefully fill in some holes in the coverage. We'll commit to reviewing this again in a year if our situation improves. We are sorry if any of you are disappointed."
Had he gone this way, I think alot of the vitriol would have been avoided, and perhaps accepted by the customers. Instead he was an arrogant prig who thinks we're all gullible idiots.

I have zero details of why but from an outsiders perspective, that would be exactly my guess. Take some time to regroup, get organized on how to handle issues and then reopen when ready. It's not failed logic but honesty is always the best answer.

If Crossroads doesn't fix the spam problem no one is going to use the site. Today is the worst spam attack I have ever seen on a site. Disgusting!
