I installed the Hughs Autoformers Watchdog EMS. It has an app for your phone that monitors your system and alerts you if there is a problem. No display to have to figure out where to put.

My 2 amps, uh, cents worth.

We have a Hughes Autoformer watchdog EPO 50 amp Bluetooth pedestal mounted surge protector with cable lock. Works for us. Read on the phone.

I am an guy with a $30 flip phone who pays consumer $35 a month for cell service with no data. I don't think Bluetooth would work for me.

It is September 2021 and I am just now reading these posts.

I'm about to buy a "protector" and have benefited by all the great posts.
Thanks for sharing.

IMO Protectors are great however, being an electrician ,,, When you have a 50 amp plug (4 blades, L1 - L2 common, Ground) and adapt to a 30 amp dog bone, (3 Blades) That will drop your common and unless the breaker panel has a BONDED ground, you will play hell on your 120 volt appliances and electronics in the coach.. If the power protector you talk about is of any quality it should disconnect power if it detects a fault in the common leg. If I am wrong, someone please correct me..

You are wrong. The 50 Amp 240 VAC to 30 Amp 120 VAC dogbone adapter does not drop the common leg. It drops one of the hot legs and supplies that to both hot legs in the MH. So on the 4 wires in the NH you have, L1, L1, Common, and Ground (or L2, L2).

True and if you have a 33 amp 120 volt generator tied to the 50 amp transfer switch, you bond L1 and L2 to the hot leg of the generator and it bonds ground and common. No problem using all sorts of wye cords and multi-plugs as all the manufacturer's of the cords and adapters ASSUME your coach is wired properly.
