Sofa bed modification

Has anyone removed the sofa bed from a 2018 Thor Vegas 24.1? Am planning to replace with recliners and just wondering what to expect
when removing sofa bed. Thanks

I don't have a direct answer for you, but I do know that several folks in various models have done it. Hopefully someone will chime in with a play by play in your specific model

but I'm wondering what sort of sofa it is that you will be getting rid of? We have an air mattress variety in our class c, and I've been thinking I might like to swap it out for a jackknife...or something easier to set up. Our fake leather is failing on ours & I really don't want to spend big money to reupholster it....so now might be a good time to get something that works better for us.

Sofa bed

The sofa bed is like a Castro convertible. Click image for larger version

I'll bump your thread again...hopefully someone can respond to answer your question.
I have a different rig, and obviously a different type sofa, but from what I've seen when taking the storage drawer out from under ours, the sofa is a very basic piece that's just screwed to the floor of the slide...
and I understand from reading other posts in the past, that the arms detach easily to get it in and out of the coach.

Send me a message if you decide to move forward with the project. I'd have to check with DW but I might...maybe... be interested in your sofa if you decide to get rid of it.
It looks like it probably sets up into a bed much easier than our air mattress. We'd loose our storage drawer that's under ours, and unfortunately it looks like it has the same vinyl that failed on ours...but it still might be a solution for me if it fits.

I have the dinette on my slide out and I'm also thinking of doing the recliner switch. What recliners are looking at?

I replaced the jackknife sofa in our Thor Ace 30.1 it was fairly simple. I replaced the jackknife sofa with theatre seating I ordered from RecPro.
Only drawback is that I now have an unneeded jackknife sofa.
Good luck😎

My Vegas 24.1 is a 2015. I ordered the RecPro 67-inch recliners and then called my mobile mechanic who put them in for me. I watched (and tried to help) with the installation. He did not seem to have any problem removing the sofa and installing the recliners. The most awkward part was his lying on the floor and reaching underneath to fasten the recliner to the floor. I love the recliners--much nicer and more comfortable than the sofa.

I have a sofa bed like that in my Cougar Tt. Wonder if there is a recliner type sofa model of the same weight since mine is in the slide.
This would be so much better for an overnight stop to rest with the slide in.
