King pin locks?

I am new to 5th wheels, the one in my signature is what we are
shopping for right now.

Do people use King pin locks while in storage and or at campgrounds?

Just wondering.

It never hurts to lock up your property...

Had a 5th wheel for a little over 10 years, never used a king pin lock.

We did keep it in secure storage, however.

King Pin locks

Yes, lock everything you can to prevent people from taking your property. If they see a lock they are most likely to move on the the guy who has never locked anything but will soon find out he needs to. I even lock the fifth wheel hitch in my truck so no one messes with it. Also lock the pins that hold it to the bed of the truck so no one takes one just for the heck of it. Better to be safe than file an insurance claim.

If it makes you feel safer, more secure then do so, locks just keep honest people honest, if someone wants it they will get it.
If folks are paranoid about theft then they probably shouldn't own a rv.
There's a good chance that 50% of the folks at any given campground will have the same key to your compartments as you do & quite possibly the same door key. Even without the key someone with a flat blade screwdriver can be in the door or any/all compartments in about 2 seconds. Most thieves don't want your rv, they want the tv's & other electronic equipment that's easily carried & quickly pawned, that's why most dealers don't install the tv's til the rv is sold.
Unfortunately that's the society we live in today, if it makes you sleep better to lock it up, do so!

Did buy a 5th wheel hitch lock for my own piece of mind. $35 investment.
