Making Great Progress on "Waiting in Colorado"

Hello Everyone,

Many of you have been tracking activities surrounding the order of our 38FL, and unfortunately the hiccups that came along with ordering a brand new floor plan. Long story short, the wife and I ordered a 38FL and went to the Factory in Syracuse to see the unit after it came of the assembly line. That experience couldn't of gone worse in that none of the three units they showed us that were supposed to be ours wasn't correct per the the build/order sheet we submitted.

However, after communicating with our dealer and rising a little heck (ok a lot Heck) it was agreed they would build us a new unit from the ground up. Just got the final confirmation and VIN number for our new build/unit. Looks like we are finally on the right track. I can't say enough good about our dealer Tarpley RV and Doug Richards of Redwood how they have handled this situation.

So that being said we can now barely wait for our newly ordered 38FL with Fireplace to come off the line. Will keep you informed

Darrell & Yong

Third visit to Factory

Dependent upon the weekly updates we are to receive from Redwood on the progress of our coach, we will make that determination later as to whether or not we'll return to the factory for a third time.

My first thought is if we see photo evidence that things are going as expected, we will most likely not return. However, if we start hearing lots of excuses or "Oh ya that's been done", will cause us to make yet another trip.

I should start billing them for the airfare, hotel, and rental cars every time I have to go out there.

Doug Richards is a good man and should take care of you. I have dealt with him before.

Can you share with us, what you feel was the contributing factors to your unit not being built correctly? I am glad to hear Doug did his part to make things right. However, I am puzzled why this seems to be a trend with Redwood. I do have my own thoughts where the weak link is! It's not the dealer and it's not Doug who has to clean up the messes. You would think, they would be more cautious, knowing these stories are going to get out and run buyers off.

if you are asking me ---
IMHO - it is in the mfg process and minimal quality control...
which includes communication or "assumptions" in communication --- in my case someone 'assumed' it was communicated and it wasn't ...

Heck, I've not even stayed in mine yet and although we love it - I already have a list of 10 things for them to look at that I missed on the pdi ! (bad me !!! )

but just like with MOST processes,
if you do a bad job (or no job) and still get paid,
what incentive is there to work better ???

redwoods are flying off the lot right now...
just hope this trend doesn't catch up with them...

please excuse my poor attitude, ALL my teams lost this weekend
