Excellent choice. When Bruce requested suggestions, two of mine were that they needed more help with moderating and clearly defined rules.

Good to see RW are listening

I think they're trying but they'll never make everybody happy.

We have had problems, I wanted to find out if there was a systemic issues with the builds. From what I see, there are none, shutting Down the REDWOOD forum, IF THAT IS WHAT happened. Causes me more concern than how the work was/is DONE on the REDWOOD, I am pleased with OUR Redwood. I am VERY UPSET if the forum is down without any WARNINGS! We spend time trying to be honest with THE REDWOOD CO. and our friends who see our 36FL, SHUTTING DOWN THE SITE, has made several of my friends ask me why.

When they took the crossroads forum down they almost killed it. Since it has been back there has been zero moderation from crossroads and we can't get them to appoint a forum memberto help. We have had repeat spammers who have been members posting for months and not even deleted or looked into. Very frustrating.

Riffraff - I had similar concerns, so asked the question on here yesterday morning. Dave responded that it is actually down for maintenance and will be back Monday. They are incorporating new features and some rules. Dave will also be an additional moderator.

I was surprised when they asked me but glad to hear that there would be some new rules. I still don't know what those are yet but I'll know when the site comes back up.

I feel like I've made some friends on the forum and I'd hate to loose them. If being a moderator helps keep the forum going in the right direction, then I'm thrilled to help.

Dave Good to know that they are going to continue with the Redwood site. I think there is a lot of good help on there that everyone of us contribute's to. I’m also glad to see that are going to have moderators on there daily. This I think will help along with the new rules.
I would have hated to see the RW forum go. Especially before the rally! I think there are going to be alot of questions being asked at the rally. I can’t wait. Going to be a great time again! Working on my sit ups for all the laughter at the camp fire at night. We hurt for 2 days last year after the rally from all the laughter!

Dave, I selfishly hope this new "oversight" responsibility doesn't burn you or your attitude out.

I've always had the forum as my selfish fun time even while I was at my office. I'm fearful this might be a pain where I never wanted pain but we'll have to wait and see.

It will depend on how much is going to be required of you whether it's fun or not. If you have to be a 24/7 watchdog---it won't be fun.

I was new to being a moderator with this forum. There is a learning curve with it. So far everyone has been well behaved and Lloyd has been beating me to any issues so I really haven't had to do a lot. Here, Janet was able to give me some tutorials on how to do certain things. Maybe you can get someone at redwood to do that for you.

Back in Nov. last year Bplunkett posted on the CR forum they were going to enlist the help of members for the purpose of spam control and general forum supervision. I know several who posted they would be interested in helping. I sent him a pm telling him I would help. I never heard anything back, and to my knowledge neither did anyone else, and nothing was ever done with the idea.
Point being, if he does it the same way on the RW forum, I wouldn't get my hopes up very high. I guess time will tell.
