Rear camera and side camera

New to Thor and My husband likes to travel with the rear camera on. We have this goofy 300lb car/scooter on a hitch mount and he likes to be able to see it. When he is done with the turn signal, the screen goes to radio and not back to rear camera. Besides not being able to see goofy scooter, He can’t tell how far he is in front of vehicle he passes. Is there a way to have screen go from rear to side and back to rear instead of rear to side to radio?

A few questions first:
  • Which model Thor do you have?
  • Which model radio do you have?

Oh and welcome to the forums.

A "...goofy 300 lb car/scooter..."
You absolutely should post a picture of this!

...And welcome to our campfire!

It’s called a Scoot Coupe. It’s street legal in all states and goes 55 mph but you would not want to be out there with others going 55mph. We use roads that are 45mph or less.

I have a AVM70LH radio in a 2018 34J Windsport.
Refer to the wire diagram in your owners manual.
Option 1:
To make the camera return to the rear view camera after using your signal lights you will need to pull the radio from the dash and follow the wire harness down to where you will find a pink and orange wire split out of the main bundle. The orange wire which is related to the reverse switch needs to be disconnected. (cut)
This will disable the function of the camera automatically coming on when shifting to reverse but I can live with that since you just have to be in camera mode when backing up.
Option 2:
Similar to above. Locate the pink wire. It is routed to the emergency brake switch and allows component mode to work when the brake is depressed. (can't view video when driving). This wire needs to be routed to a permanet ground to disable the "driving feature".
You will then need to add a RCA cord from the yellow video out from the RVS-501N-3 camera video switch located under the dash the VIN (video in) on the back of the radio.
I have done both of these changes to mine and now the rear camera returns after using the signal lights.
Also search for the thread "rear camera" for more info.

On our Axxera, not sure of the model, I just go to the menu screen after putting the radio were we want it and select rear camera. It stays on the rear camera until the turn signals are used. The side cameras come on and when the turn signals clear it goes back to rear camera. To change the radio you have to go back to the menu screen and hit radio. Came this way from Thor, no extra hook ups needed.

For $7000 you would think Piaggio would have the 500cc engine in it, not a 50cc or 150cc.
