Insurance???

We have had Progressive Insurance on our Mhs and travel trailers for years. Suddenly there is a 50% increase. So I started getting quotes. Good Sam quote was nearly $7000 annually. I entered info 3 times and got the same quote. Same thing from another carrier. What am I doing wrong? Or where should I be looking? And no...no accidents or any other issues.

I don’t know unless you have a real bad driving record or your rv cost $1000000

Clean record and a relatively inexpensive rig.

I was able to cut my insurance cost by almost 50% by leaving National(Good Sam) adding the RV to my AARP Hartford policy. I was shocked so join AARP and give it try.

I had Progressive do the same with me when my insurance was handled by AAA. We left AAA and found an independent broker and my insurance is now through Erie.

We have the Lizard for two vehicles and the ACE knock on wood very reasonable rate. I think some of it depends on what state and area of state you live.

We left State Farm after 35 years after they quoted an outrageous number on our new Georgetown. We felt they overstated the value of the coach (which was $150K) so we ended up with Geico at an excellent rate, and transferred the policy to our Aria when we traded up.

Don't rely on the on-line quote-place the call and speak with someone who knows RVs.

There is some issue on you record but you may not know what it is or it may be in error. They have to disclose or you may check with State Board of Insurance on how to see your info. It could be tied to credit or DLs of any named on policy. We had one hail storm cause us to get 5 claims in one swoop. They claim it does not affect; but when they view at a glance they just count the claims.

But since you have Good Sam, you have an easier way. Call Marcus Lemonis. It actually works... They will get back to you quickly and in your case have a licensed agent tell you exactly what is going on and why. I have used that number and they have resolved every time within 48 hours.

Good luck

I use Allstate, very happy with the low rates and they allow you to put the RV on a non use mode that saves additional money

We have used Auto Club for years. Their rates vary quite a bit, based on verified annual mileage. The less you drive the lower your rates are. Always seemed pretty fair to me.

Really happy with the lizard as well. We have full coverage on 4 vehicles and it averages about $70.00 a month per vehicle.

We had our Travel Trailer insured with Good Sam we purchased it from Camping World and our full replacement Rv rates were 397.00 per year. We just traded it in on a 2019 Thor Hurricane 34j and our full replacement Rv insurance is 1300/ month. I would call Good Sam direct and not go online. Are you sure you were not ordering some sort of long term service agreement?

I think Bob would say:
Its your record, your circumstance, your zip code, your miles per year.
A yellow page entry is as good as any recommendation when we have no information of value.

What collision deductible were you seeking?
We had $1000 deductible with Good Sam (National General) and our annual cost was around $2100/year for our 25' Class C.
I do not know about others, but when I put the MH into storage for 2-3 months, they can remove the liability coverage and add it back on with a phone call.

We use GEICO for our Jeep and Hurricane. Very nice rates. Does not break the bank.

We have been with State Farm for many years and have other vehicles as well as home insurance through them. Our rate is $934/year.
