SumoSprings. Trust but verify.

I installed front and rear Sumosprings on our Four Winds 24Hl. Which has a Sprinter chassis. Made a huge difference and well worth the money. The rear springs have a distortion as seen in the pictures. I contacted the vendor who then contacted Sumospring and a Sumo engineer said it due to the weight of the coach, "don't worry and they have a lifetime warranty."

They are still firmly in place and don't show any cracking or tearing. I have about 1000 miles on them.

Has anyone else seen this on the 3500 Sprinter?

Thanks for your help

Looks abnormal to me. Have you contacted Sumo Springs direct and sent them these pictures? I wouldn't trust the installer to speak for the manufacturer. I just watched several videos of these spring systems in action and didn't see anything crooked like this. It almost looks like they are in a compressed state just sitting there...maybe the wrong size or too big or tall for the application?

Thanks for the response. Supposedly the retailer forwarded my photos to a Sumo engineer. They sent me email with his response but not his name. What I'm hoping for is someone with a similar size MH to respond so I know how hard to push Sumo if need be.

It's a really big retailer in the suspension upgrade business. They'd be crazy to make up a story....

I have a Gemini 24TX, and I have been considering this. Can you tell me which weight capacity you went with for the front, 500lbs or 1000lbs and what your installation cost?
Attached is a photo from their installation instructions for a Sprinter.

That photo looks normal..his look compressed in the sitting stage. Almost no more room for vertical movement.

The biggest difference I see is that in first (top) picture the Sumo is loaded eccentrically, and has therefore partially buckled. In second factory picture, the load appears applied uniformally and square the way it should be.

I don’t have Sumos nor want them, but would not accept the first installation as being done correctly. Just my 2 cents.

Sent the pics directy to Superspings and got a reply from an engineer which confirmed the retailers responce.

...
Thanks for those pictures! Yes, they look great as far as the installation goes. You're motorhome may be a little more on the heavier side, which is why the SumoSprings are compressing the way they are. As long as your motorhome is not sagging, that compression is perfectly normal. ...

They have made a huge difference in the ride. Much less sway on curves etc I like the improvement I feel when driving.
