2016 ACE 27.1 Whistling Noise

Just bought a new ACE 27.1 in October. First time on the interstate a high pitched whistling noise from the front end came in around 60 mph. Since then, the windshield has been resealed and every possible seam has been re-foamed under the hood, under the dash and doghouse. The noise is still present, and I am out of ideas and patience. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi there,
Had a few wind noises on ours, others suggested weep holes in side windows which you could get some covers for (but I never found any holes on our A.C.E.). Some recommended putting the furry side of Velcro on the inside vertical edge of the sliding side windows to force a tighter seal. I did put a stone guard mess on the chrome grill, which I guess would also break up the air flow (our 2015 has the old style grill which was said to produce noises).
But in the end, my noises came from the hole where the cables for the side mirrors goes through the wall. It made a sound like blowing across a beer bottle opening. You can see the drivers side hole if you remove the cover above the gauges. I used spray foam to seal those holes, that problem was cured. There are still plenty of noises left to deal with.... creaky TV above the door, door surround, table legs, plastic shelf where the jacks panel is etc etc going to take time but hang in there... labor of love and all that.

Rgds

Had the same problems with our Hurricane. The dealer wanted re-install the windshield but Thor wanted to use sealer, the sealer lasted 2 months. I called Thor and insisted they re-install the windshield which they agreed to do. The dealer had a specialist install a new seal and re-install the windshield. This took care of the problem.

My 27K is out of warranty now, never got this fixed. Makes a howling noise at 70 mph, or lower if wind is head on. Seems to come from drivers side lower part. I am going to look at the mirrors again, maybe put some seal on window. It is not the weep holes, they made a loud wind noise before I had the "fix" on them, a rubber thing stuck into the slots. That was done under warranty. It helped alot, now I can hear the radio over 50 mph! The newer A.C.E and Hurricanes have different style windows, maybe changed 2015 models. Please follow up when it gets fixed so I know what to do.

I thought my wind noise was coming from the driver's side. The dealer put duct tape across the top of the windshield seal, the noise stopped. You might want to place duct tape on suspicious areas. Sealer doesn't really work that well due to the heat makes it soft and runny. A windshield installer might give you a fair price just to replace the seal if that is the problem. Good luck on your problem solving. You might want to call Thor to see if they have any suggestions.

I have a whistling noise on my 31L but it varies depending on the wind direction. Sometimes it is very pronounced and other times it is gone completely. Sometimes on the drivers side and other times on the passenger side. I believe in my case that is the aerodynamics of the mirrors or the cab? I don't hear it when the windows are rolled up. Had the unit in for some minor warranty work recently but forgot to mention this. I doubt if there is much they could do about it anyway but wouldn't hurt to ask. Any other 31L owners notice this?

Whistling in ACE

We had this issue with a 2012 Day Break. Not a leaky window issue. We had the dealer install a screen with larger holes than a screen door mesh on the inside of the front opening and it never whistled again. Kept the bugs off the radiator too.
