2016 Thor Tuscany fuel cap

I recently purchased a 2016 Thor Tuscany MQ. I am having difficulty removing the diesel fuel caps. I have read the manual and can not find the magic answer. I turn to the right and feel the clicks, then I turn to the left, wait a bit for any pressure to be released, then then I continue turning to the right I hit a firm stop. What to do?

After pressure is released what happens if you continue turning to the left (counter clockwise) instead of turning to the right again?

Dave,
Thanks for getting back to me. I am doing as you suggest, but I still get the blockage after about a full counter clock turn.

They remove counter clockwise, keep turning left and they will un screw

The clicks are to let you know they are tight and to stop turning right

Maybe he should stop by a Dealer, and let them make sure that the cap is doing what it's supposed to do.
It's not the first time that a cap has turned out to be a problem.
Good luck!

If the cap is stripped turning left, take a pair of Channel Locks, remove it turning left, take it to Napa and get another.

I called Thor and they told me to call Freightliner. Freightliner told me the cap just unscrews when you turn to the left, unless someone installed a different cap.
Thanks for trying to help.

I'm kind of thinking that it's the right time to pull the pin on the Channel-Locks...

Good luck!
Once you've got a good grip on it: use only enough force to see if it wants to move.
Don't deform the filler tube.

It should twist in the tube but good advice

Some caps do set up pretty tight,

Hopefully a success story is on the way

If the Channel Locks don't work, I would look. to see if there is a way to remove the filler tube, cap and all. Might be time for a new filler tube or take a drill to the cap. I wouldn't however take a drill to the cap with the filler tube in place. You don't want plastic or metal debris getting in the fuel tank.

Does the Tuscany have dual fuel fills?

My Tuscany was bought used and the fuel cap on the passenger side was missing. I just took the driver side one and went to Advanced Auto and got a replacement for the passenger side.
