2019 Outlaw 29J City water not flowing?

Hello all,

Wife and I just purchased a new 2019 29J and love it.

On our first trip out we could not get city water connection to work.

I tried with and without a pressure regulator to see if the pressure was too low. Everyone else in the camp ground had no issues, it was just us.

I looked in all the compartments and behind all the panels I can find to see if there is a valve I am missing but no luck.

On all my other RVs there was nothing to do except connect to the port and it would switch automatically.

I haven't had time to call Thor yet during office hours.

Thanks
Ron

Thor has a 24 hour helpline at 877-855-2867. Leave a message with your phone # and brief description of the problem, they usually call back fairly quickly.

Welcome to our Band of Merry Travelers!
(Outlaw 29 H owner here!)
Sorry to hear that you've got a glitch in the water supply. Have you tried tracing the lines back from the connection? (You might have a kink in it...)

All Thor coaches even those from plant 850 have plastic shavings in all water lines and filters. Try taking the aerators off and clean them as well as the shower head and the main filter near the water pump. The outlet from the tank also will have a screen full of shavings. If all that is clear there is a back flow preventer in the city water line. It's there to prevent the water pump from pumping water out the city water hookup when dry camping. It could be stuck or broken.

I will try the # and see what they say.

I traced all the lines I can find and couldn't find a valve.

The water works fine using the Tank and Water pump. But nothing from City water.

Thanks

you don't have a typical 'Anderson 4-way Kantleak' water valve, that you turn from 'Normal'(waterpump/tank) to 'CITY' for pressurize spigot water?

There is a check valve on the water pump and on the back of the water connector on the side of the coach, it’s usually hard to get to.

We also have a 2018 29J. Love it!!! The garage and patio are great.. get your water issue resolved. And enjoy the trips.. the 2 things I would recommend is get a good adjustable water regulator and replace the shower head with a better model.. they make a difference..

Do you have something like this. You may have to turn valve to city fixture. I went from class C to outlaw RB.and with this you have to turn valve to how your water is hooked up.
When we went camping and had hose hook up valve is on normal. Not sure if it’s that simple for your problem. We love it just not the problems with camping world fixing it. Click image for larger version

Per Thor there is no valve to switch.

Here is a link to the water schematics they sent me. The only valves listed are for the Hot Water Heater.

Those diagrams could be very useful to me; thanks for posting them!
The Sani-Flush system in mine keeps leaking water out onto the floor...

Give Thor a call and ask them for all your engineering diagrams--they will send them to you (and they will be as specific to your rig as they can be). Make sure you have your VIN handy.

Thanks! I'll give that a try this week!
In the meantime: his "J" is close enough to my "H"; that I think I can do some fancy translating!

Thumbs up Outlaw 29J Water

I have the same RV and had the same problem. The solution/problem turned out to be excess water line. I had to unscrew the connector from the wall, cut 2-3 inches off, install a connector, hook the 2 pieces of line together and reattach the connector. No more problems. It seems that the line had too much length and when pushed into the wall it would kink the line. Cost about fifty cents and 5 mins to fix.

Just came back from service, and that is exactly what they did.

There was several extra inches of line that had been kinked so they cut several inches off and re-connected. I couldn't find it because the kink was behind a panel that was nailed in place.

Thank you all for the help

Ron
